- It happens that even small injuries takes a week. Then we are in trouble – Dagbladet.no

DEBRECEN (Dagbladet): Teams Goalie Kari Aalvik Grimsbø (29) stood a good game when Norway beat Romania 27-19 in EM opening in Hungarian debrecen last night.

For her own part, however, was not all equally bright. During the match, she got pain in one knee. She chose however to keep silent about the possible damage last night, hoping that it was just something that would go over.

– Nothing acute

– She felt a little during the game, and it was almost worse when she was cold. When she additionally had pain in the morning, so we had to hurry to get checked this. She is therefore sent on MRI, said national team doctor Nils Ivar Leraand Dagbladet.

Ice and analgesics were not enough to remove the pain of the knee.

Leraand hope and believe that it is not is something urgent, but dare not embark on any diagnosis before he gets answers from MRI. There he hopes to get in during the evening.

– There is no acute meniscal or ligament, so we’ll just wait and see when we get the answers, he said.

– A question of pain

Grimsbø rested the last ten minutes of yesterday’s game, but the team doctor is aware that it had nothing with pain in the knee to do.

– Kari was also a little cold before the fight so it was just to give her a little rest.

– What will that she is not ready to Ukraine tomorrow?

– The becomes a matter of pain, unless we get other answers on MRI. I hope it is something we can do something, so we get her ready quickly.

– But it happens that even small injuries takes a week. Then we are in trouble in the middle of a championship. That is what the problem is in the midst, says the doctor told Dagbladet.

– Have some theories

– What do you think the pain is due?

– I have some theories, but I have not wanted to share. But if that’s what I think it is, then there is hope to get her back fast.

National coach Thorir Hergeirsson would not say anything about Grimsbo injury yesterday. He is awaiting responses from the medical device before making a decision on Grimsbo fate in EM.

– We’ll come with the diagnosis and prognosis, so get Thorir and Mia (Hermansson Høgdahl) decide whether they will go for one or the other.
I hope we know a little more during the evening, says Nils Ivar Leraand.

– Strength to be two

Will probably Silje Solberg (24) stand against Ukraine tomorrow anyway. Goalkeeper Coach Mats Olsson has envisaged that goalie duo basically guarding the Norwegian goal in every game.

Silje has been very good in Danish Team Tvis Holstebro in the fall, and feel ready for the task.

– We’ll see what happens with Kari. I hope it’s nothing dangerous. There is always a force to be two, says Silje Solberg said.

• NB About Kari Aalvik Grimsbø injury is more serious than first thought and she loses the rest of the championship, then Grimsbo Norwegian goalkeeper colleague in Esbjerg, Emily Rod Sando brought in as replacement .
