Aston Villa player on chaos – It was scary and dangerous – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Aston Villa fans have been starved of success the last time, and it has been clearly demonstrated during tonight’s FA Cup match against West Bromwich.

Several of the home team’s fans stormed the pitch twice, long before the game was blown off, which led to the referee had stopped the game.

Referee trio figured enough where bar when the five additional minutes were out. TV pictures showed that one lineman sprinted toward the locker room as if his life depended on it, then the whistle went after 95 minutes played.

It looked as if Aston Villa had just won something large.

But they are “only” in the semifinals.

Police got their hands full stopping parts of the fans during the fight and had at some cases to use force to keep people down on the grass.

Not scary

There are differing opinions on the scene that unfolded in Birmingham tonight.

– You want to celebrate with the crowd. It’s not scary, but it was probably scary if you are a WBA player, says Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood said.

There was still some Aston Villa players who received unwanted attention from fans. Goalscorer Fabian Delph was surrounded by a whole bunch of them, and could not do anything when fans would take pictures with him. Some kisses on the shiny pate his was not to avoid.

– It was very, very scary. Someone took the bracelet my someone got my left shoe, but I appreciate the relief fans feel after such a result, says Delph said.

– It was dangerous. Some tried to take off my shoes. People tried to kiss me. It was scary, repeat Delph.



– Outrageously

A who did not like what he saw on the pitch, was West Brom manager Tony Pulis.

– It was outrageous. You will not see such scenes. There are mindless idiots. Villa must look over safety, said Pulis according to the same channel.

Aston Villa is ready for whatever the semifinals of the FA Cup, which is played at Wembley.
