Molde boss has been fired – Aftenposten

Head coach Tor Ole Skullerud and assistant Bård Wiggen is released from the contract with Molde with immediate effect.

MOLDE / OSLO: It happens two days after Moldes dramatic sammenlagttap for Dinamo Zagreb in qualifying for the Champions League.

– Tor Ole Skullerud and Bård Wiggen is released from the contract with Molde with immediate effect. We do this because of a lack of sporting performance, says chairman Øystein Neerland Molde FK.

– Last year was a historic and well years (league and cup gold, journ.anm) but 2015 season has not stood to expectations, says Neerland.

Already in late June told Skullerud that he gives himself for the season, but now he is parting with umiddlerbar effect. The decision was taken today, according to the chairman.

– It is so in football that success is perishable. We live by what we perform here and now. The results so far this year is not in line with our goal, says CEO of Molde, Tarjei Nordstrand Jacobsen.

The club has already initiated efforts to find a replacement for coach duo season.

Skullerud led today Molde training, but already tomorrow a new coach in place.

– We are working on a temporary solution must be in place by training tomorrow. It is natural that it gets done including internal resources from the club. We also work with a long term solution, says chairman Neerland.

Sources Aftenposten has been in contact with say that it is Erling Moe and captain Daniel Berg Hestad who will be responsible for leading Friday’s training session – and probably also the fight against Odd Sunday.

Øystein Neerland did not want to answer whether Skullerud now even want to leave the club immediately.

– Tor Ole Skullerud did not want to be present here, responded Neerland unvikende – before the short the press conference ended.

PS Mushaga Bakenga has extended the lease with Molde out 2016. It confirms Club Brugge on Twitter.
