Høgmo with Drillo copy – Dagsavisen

coaching staff is half scrapped finspillet, focused on the safe and created a European Championship dream. – Good old Drillo football, says Roar Stokke.

With 1-0 away over a half-heartedly and consistently very weak Bulgaria, Norway can now make EM-ticket on his own show .

Football Experts believe Høgmo certainly will continue in the same path towards Croatia Sunday. The battle must be won if Norway should go directly to the EC.

– Norway was back to the time during which Drillo opponent laid the foundation for victory. Thursday’s play was Drillo style at its best, says TV commentator Stokke said.

Hiding weaknesses

When Høgmo got the job in 2013 he chose a more fast ballbesittende style. It has not given very good results even if pairing was often hard.

Norway have plummeted down the FIFA rankings and is now at number 69.

– We frustrates opponents, minimizes the risk on their half and we get eventually the chances we need. This style of play, based on collective team effort, discipline and tactical implementation will, suits us very well. It camouflages also limitations in skill that is located in the Norwegian crew versus better team, says Stokke.

– Should we beat Croatia, then it must happen in the same way. Rakitic and Modric are better players than ours and therefore we must make them so bad we can.

– Against Bulgaria we tried to look more like Iceland than in Spain, and it dressed well. Drillo examiner gave enough made passing.

Not romance

Former TV commentator Morten Langli is stone clear that Norway must play with the same style also against Croatia.

– Less risk in the offensive game, makes us less vulnerable and harder to beat. It gives us a better chance to win. Teams Football is not fotballromantikernes arena. Anguish round brings small nations the ability to turn or take points from the big. Just look at the results from Thursday, says Langli said.

He is supported by Odd coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo.

– One must adapt his style somewhat after opponent. The result is most important. Norway was smart against Bulgaria, he said.

The top two in each group and the best bronze winner goes straight to EM. The eight other third teams play about the last four seats in late autumn.
