The progress is not just a battle between TV 2 and Discovery on sports rights, but also the sport profiles. Now retrieves Discovery TV2 commentator Asbjørn Myhre to his house.
– We will build a strong sport editorial forward to the Olympics in 2018. Then we need the best people in the class. People like Asbjørn Myhre, says Discovery’s sporting director Jan-Erik Aalbu in a press release.
– Asbjørn Myhre is a perfect match for us. He is a team player and an all-round and has the weight and experience we need to build a strong sport editorial forward to the Olympics in 2018. We have wanted us Asbjørn long time and are happy to finally have him on the team.
Myhre says he looks forward to being a part of the Discovery team.
– This is a challenge that trigger me properly. It is incredibly exciting to work in an editorial that will take so significant boost over the next few years. I felt strongly desired in Discovery and they sit the already intriguing rights within “my” sports: football, baseball and hockey. Hopefully I can develop my skills as a commentator, while I contribute journalistic and television professional in building strong sports editorial says Asbjørn Myhre.
Also sport journalist Espen Tvedt becomes part of tv-house sports betting in Norway.
– Espen has experience in both NRK and TV2 sport, and has been around on a football pitch before. He has worked with the Olympics for both of the aforementioned channels, and is, as Asbjørn Myhre, one of the absolute best in class, says Jan-Erik Aalbu.
Tvedt becomes editorial director and duty officer in Discovery, which has channels as TVNorge, Max and Eurosport Norway, and has bought the rights to the Olympics from 2018 to 2024.
