At least 39 killed by terror in Paris – 100 taken hostage – TV 2

LATEST: Antiterror police storms now Bataclan concert venue where it is held hostage.

At least 39 people are killed and 100 people are taken hostage for several terrorist attacks in Paris Friday night. Overall there will be six different terrorist attacks, and the situation is unclear.

The number of fatalities varies in different media, but the French police reports that currently 39 confirmed dead.

The first reports of shooting and explosions came in 22 o’clock Friday night.

According to the French police are eleven people killed by shooting in the restaurant Le Carillon in the tenth district. There are also reports of an explosion at a bar in the same area.

In addition, 15 people killed in the concert hall Le Bataclan where the band Eagles of Death Metal play Friday night. The band is scheduled to play in Oslo on 26 November.

100 people have been taken hostage by five to six gunmen inside the concert venue, reports TV channel BFM.

– I’m on the ground floor in Bataclan. There is severe. The butcher all, one by one. Dead bodies everywhere, writes Liberation journalist Benjamin Cazenove on Facebook.

The restaurant Le Carillon located near the editorial offices of satire newspaper Charlie Hebdo where terrorists struck against in January.



– It sounded like fireworks

Italian Emilioi Macchio was drinking at a bar when the shooting started in the restaurant next door.

He told the AP that he saw those shot, but hid behind a corner before he fled from the place.

– It sounded like fireworks, he said.

On the TV broadcast from the friendly match between France and Germany heard two explosions. French President François Hollande was escorted out by security guards from the football stadium Stade de France.

2 TV reporter Hans-Kristian Rangnes on vacation in Paris. He is a few blocks away from the restaurant where the shooting happened.

– I see five to six police cars driving past the restaurant. People are starting to be afraid and people are worried about how to get home. We stick here until further notice, says Ragnar by telephone from Paris.

Astrid Sehl of the Foreign Ministry told TV 2 that the Norwegian Embassy is working to clarify the situation for Norwegian citizens Paris.

VIDEO: Magnus Dale fell amid chaos

Magnus Dale is located in the where the first terrorist attacks happened. After work he and several colleagues out to go to the tenth district to eat. When they arrive they realize that something is wrong and looks panicked people.

– There was shooting right beside where we were. We are now safe in the apartment with a colleague.

Exception Condition and closed borders

The security level in Paris was already raised before tonight’s terrorist attacks in conjunction with an upcoming climate conference which starts in two weeks.

Just before midnight said French President François Hollande at a press conference that the imposition of emergency in Paris and the borders of France are closed. President asking people to stay inside and have confidence that the government gets control over the situation.

– Who are these terrorists? It’s a very difficult situation and my thoughts are with the victims. Now we must keep the same and keep a cool head, said Hollande in the live television speech.

– There are currently an attack that we are trying to fight back, said one clearly marked Hollande.
