Hungarian internationals in grief after the loss of former teammate – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): The former Sunderland, Manchester City and Tottenham goalkeeper Marton Fulop has died after a long illness, only 32 years old.

The goalkeeper with 24 caps for Hungary had to give up the fight against cancer Thursday morning – just hours before former teammates play the first of two crucial playoff games against Norway.

– Rest in peace, Marci !, greet the other keeper in the Hungarian team and Liverpool player Adam Bogdan to his former teammate.

Fulop been affected by cancer in 2013, when it was found a tumor in his arm at the goalkeeper.

– I’m sure in a few months I’m back both physically and mentally, and can continue to play football, said a positive Fulop to Eurosport after he was diagnosed two years ago.

Fulop came from MTK Budapest to the Premier League in 2004.

– There are in deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce that Martin Fulop is dead writes the Hungarian team on its pages.

– Sunderland is in mourning after hearing about past goalkeeper Marton Fulop demise. Our thoughts are with his family, greeting Sunderland’s former goalkeeper.
