Irritated Weng: – Do not really say things to the media anymore – VG

DRAMMEN / OSLO (AP) Heidi Weng (24) feel unfairly treated and call back messages after she chose to go home from NM Tromso «tough».

– I would not really say things to the media anymore, says Weng in the press zone after finishing fifth in Drammen until she nevertheless continues:

– I think it’s been tough feedback when you have set up in all of NM in the last three years and you have been this year’s championship runner for three consecutive years. And then you learn that you are cowardly and selfish, I think that very little about when I usually go all that is in NM. I really wanted to go but were told that the smartest thing was to go home. Then I pretty annoyed.

Bs media save themselves

Friday last week gave both Weng and Johaug informed that they had gone their final distance in NM Tromso to be best prepared for the upcoming World Cup. NRK specialist Fredrik Aukland called it “sad”.

Under the title “The King does not deserve to be pissed on,” took Adresseavisens commentator Kjetil Hook Sæter a powerful reckoning with priorities.

– Yes , I think so. When you get that kind of comments, and you’re the runner who has been mostly NM recent years, when I think that the media can save themselves nor determine how the results have been before. I therefore find that the journalists have done a very bad job, says Weng questions about her experience criticism as unfair.

As in the days ahead NM feel Enebakk girl there is something not right in the body. Wednesday’s fifth best in the sprint is therefore uncertain whether she goes Sunday tremil in Holmenkollen.

Falla best

ingvild flugstad østberg had almost made her way up the last hundred meters in the final. Where obtained Maiken Caspersen Falla forward superpowers, spurtslo teammates and won in Drammen for the third consecutive year.

She has now just 34 points up to Stina Nilsson in Sprint Cup. The Swedish girl, who was disqualified to sixth place in the final, has 18 points more than Ostberg.

– I was not sure even today, but this worked well. 34 points is a lot smaller than it was when I woke up today. Then there is still hope. It’s the one I’ve wanted all season. Now I’ve seen so much ski race on TV this winter that I will go a little yourself, says Falla and laughs.

This season remains one sprint in Lahti on just over two weeks. In addition there are three sprint competitions during the Tour of Canada which concludes this year’s World Cup in early March.

Superior in the prologue

Tour de Ski surprise Ostberg – who outclassed everyone in the prologue and won both the quarter- and semi-finals – took command from the start in today’s finale. Along the way she just pushed Krista Parma Koski and Swedish Stina Nilsson.

But Maiken Caspersen Falla had other plans. Slightly out of nowhere sneaked herself forward in the field and finished extremely strong. She sped past teammate Ostberg and finally went first across the finish line for his third straight win in Drammen sprint.

The day opened well for the Norwegian girls. Ostberg was devastatingly superior in the prologue and made clear bestetid. Along with seven other Norwegian took her further as one of the top 30 to the quarterfinals. There had both Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen and Ragnhild Haga thank for it.

In the semifinals, won Ostberg easily and were joined by Maiken Caspersen Falla and Heidi Weng to the finals. Mari Eide, Kari Vikhagen Gjeitnes and Kathrine Harsem all three knocked out in the semifinals.
