Norwegian collapse when mom Marie won her second World Championship gold at Holmenkollen – Dagbladet.no

• VM normal program, women, Holmenkollen.

HOLMENKOLLEN (Dagbladet): Normal program is biathletes shoot competition number one – with a minute addition as punishment for each boom – and that was just on the firing fun was spoiled for the Norwegian quartet in the current World Championship event in Holmenkollen.

Fanny Horn Birkeland was best Norwegian in 31 place, with four misses. Marte Olsbu ended at 42, while Tiril Eckhoff was number 43 – both with five minutes as well.

Four x pallet

Instead, it was a day to remember for French Marie Dorin Habert (29) – that plus the gold from mix-relay with a new medal of loveliest denomination. With Silver (Sprint) and bronze (Pursuit) as well, so she stands with four medals in four starts at Holmenkollen.

Better can hardly be achieved for the French woman who was Mommy half years ago, and has enjoyed a fairytale sporting success after she became a mother, Dorin Haberg also won three medals (two gold) at the World Championships in Kontiolahti last year.

Between races wheeling her daughter Adele (1) around the plant here in Holmenkollen , with both husband and parents.

in goal today was Dorin Habert 12.2 seconds before teammate anaïs bescond. With double French on the podium, sticking themselves out as the big favorite in Friday’s relay as well.

German Laursen Dahl Meier took the bronze. She had gold and bronze in the World Cup before.

– crappy start

Tiril Eckhoff explained downturn follows:

– It went well in the slot. I felt I was in good shape, but it does not help when you start with two misses. I had not so much nerves actually, so it is happy to be a little more nervous, says Eckhoff Dagbladet.

She suffered four boom on the first two shootings. On the last two were “just” a boom.

– It is important to be even more determined belay. It is perhaps extra pressure at home, that you should make it quite large. But today was not one of us who did it.

– Catastrophic

NRK man at the shooting range, Ola Lunde, are critical of what the Norwegian girls delivered.

– This was just catastrophically bad. Anything else is there to say about it.

After Eckhoffs big day Saturday Fossum girl had a falling formurve World Cup. She slid down to 17th place in the pursuit the next day and explained the failure that she had failed to “reset” after the experience of having been world champion on home soil in Holmenkollen.

With two days to get experience out of the system, so she expressed that she felt mentally and physically ready again to take up the fight for new medals.

It was Eckhoff never close today.

Disappointed debutant

World Cup debutant Kaia Wøien Nicolaisen (25) also got a heavy experience in Holmenkollen. With five boom and a tough day in the track she ended on 73. place, and may have set their relays opportunities at risk. It will not be surprising if she gets scrapped in favor of synnøve solemdal on Friday’s relay.

– It felt okay on warming, but when I started it was acid from the first stone’s throw. After the first round I knew that I almost did not want to walk around here anymore, but I just had to fight me in goal. It’s no fun when you do not get it, says Wøien Nicolaisen Dagbladet.

– What now?

– I think relay is covering for me, so it’s not much left for me, says 25-year-old.

Maintains aspirations

Sports Director Morten Aa. Djupvik was made, but disappointed by the weak Norwegian effort.

– We are here to achieve, so it is disappointing that the girls do not get out their best in a World Cup on home soil. They go fast in the slot, but it’s what happens at the shooting range that allows us not getting the results we want, said sports director Morten Aa. Djupvik NRK.

Although Norway did not get any in the top 30, so he maintains that the Norwegian team has high ambitions in Friday’s relay.

– We still believe medal in the relay, he said.
