Pissed Tarjei Bo after horror series: – I wanted to burst – Dagbladet.no

HOLMENKOLLEN (Dagbladet) The Norwegian biathletes delivered a solid race, but got “only” bronze in today’s mixed relay at the World Championships.

Marte Olsbu, Tiril Eckhoff and Johannes Thingnes Bø was in the lead all the way through the first three stages, but a very weak underlying series of Tarjei Bø on the last leg ruined for Norway.

the Norwegian team seemed to end up on the bitter 4th place before the latest shooting, but big brother Bo directed partially up its weak first series when he shot five flashes straight down in the standing shooting.

Secured bronze

So he took past Ukraine and Norway went up to the bronze. France’s Martin Fourcade and German Simon Schempp was unfortunately little to do with the end of stryn no.

He blames it on the wrong focus from their own side after three boom at present.

– There was so unnecessary, something like that should not happen at present. It can happen still, but everyone knows that it is more normal. Landscape should be more plank driving. I was not egregious enough. Standing, I’ve thought about for months. I was very determined that it was there it would be settled, but then had the train passed, said Tarjei Bo told Dagbladet.

– After lying series I was just angry. I wanted to burst. I went, everything I had, but they exploited the situation when I was hooked off, he added.

– Missed gold

Norway was third also on last year’s mixed relay at the World Championships, but for a year ago, the Norwegian team behind. It makes this year’s bronze feels like anything but a victory for Tarjei Bo.

– I feel like we lost the gold today. We walked the four man together. The odds were probably lowest on Fourcade, but I feel like a good man-to-man biathlete, so I felt that I could take him, he said.

In advance was most question marks at the Norwegian team linked to Olsbu and Eckhoff, but the girls delivered. Instead, there were guys who failed to follow up.

– The girls have worked hard and been really agile. They have been nervous, but I think I’ve seen that they have enjoyed in recent days. I was very happy the way that they did it so well, says Tarjei Bo.

Sick Fourcade

About sovereign Martin Fourcade, who smashed Simon Schempp at the end, says Bo this about reports that the French biathlon king has struggled with illness before the World Cup.

– it is certainly true that he was sick, but I knew he would be in his element yet, he said.

– today we just got our second best. Then you can not expect to take gold when facing the world’s best biathlete, he adds.

Lillebror Johannes Thingnes Bø went a solid third stage today, but was not at its rawest in the slot. After the race he was also he more disappointed with that gold slipped than pleased to have secured bronze.

– Hard

– I’m very happy with the medal, but I think we had all the gold of Tarjei had gone out in the back on Fourcade and Schempp. Had he been five seconds closer, he could have taken them, John says.

About his own race, he says:

– I think it was difficult to ski in day, so if I had tried to go from those I met on the third leg, it would have cost more for me than for them. Therefore, it was a bit like lureløp.
