Former teammate sent Vålerenga their heads out of the playoffs – Dagbladet.no

• Lørenskog – Vålerenga 5-2 (2-1, 2-0, 1-1)

LØRENSKOG (Dagbladet): Lørenskog wasted no opportunity to settle semifinal series against Vålerenga at home, then they sent the visitors on their heads out of the fight for “bucket.”

Not only lost Vålerenga, but they were sunk by their former teammate, Stefan Espeland, as they scored two of the goals.

Neither forward or backward voted it completely for Vålerenga, who eventually had to go home empty-handed to Oslo with early summer.

Thanks for gift package

it was Vålerenga who started best, when they are already after 1.54 minutes in the first period went into the lead when Jonas Knutsen and Morten Ask just about get through his head. Lørenskog Goalie Jeff Jakaitis shot, and fight for an extra match lived fully.

The away was the best the first few minutes, but Lørenskog played up later in the period. Therefore it came as a surprise that there was a goal for the home side when it was played just over nine minutes.

The red-clad won a drop in Vålerenga’s zone and Espeland unleashed a shot none of the visitors managed to stop . Pass he Henrik Ødegaard and Jonas Djupvik Løvlie and leaving layers equidistant.

During the first period there were two regular team on the pitch, but it was the home team that used the opportunities appeared. And when Vålerenga players failed to deke out opponents, caught Lørenskog’s James Sixsmith puck, passed it on to Tony Romano, who made no mistake by sending the puck to Robin Dahlstrøm.

latter took gift package with open arms, and sent home team into the lead after 13.30 minutes.

Set out in hideout

With the knife at his throat had Vålerenga deliver in the second period, but never managed to assert itself against a dangerous home team.

After the middle period started quieter than the first and flipped both ways, it came as a surprise that Lørenskog went up to 3 -1 after eight minutes. Again it was Espeland as they scored, which showed why he was fetched to rival ahead of the season.

With two legs in the final series, there was no Lørenskog who looked back. Even better was when Tony Romano outnumbered sent the puck in behind Steffen Søberg after Vålerenga again lost the puck in its own zone.

That left it 4-1 on the grid in favor homemade, roughly minutes before the break, and Lørenskog could almost take it quite easy when the third and final period started.

Arguing the puck

Lørenskog got up early both one and two penalties in the third period, and Vålerenga got more shooting opportunities with two man more on the pitch. But it was not until local team in becoming Full Strength that the white-clad managed to wrangle the puck behind Jakaitis.

shot went inside of both arms and out, and when the puck was shot from the rebound wagered Tobias Lindtröm everything and ensured that the visitors were only two goals behind after four and a half minutes.

Vålerenga pushed on, but a too good home team could instead increase the lead to 5-2 by Jonas Djupvik Small by 9.08 and Vålerenga played thus only honor the past eleven minutes.

it was with that in Lørenskog ice rink, and Lørenskog get some extra days of rest before the final game against the winner of Stavanger Oilers and Storhamar – which, incidentally, eventually won by the former, who now leads 3-2 in matches.
