Tom Nordlie retires Avaldsnes coach mid-season.
It informs the team said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

“Tom Nordlie and club regrets the time this happens when we have qualified for the Cup final and is in position with 4 points ahead to get a place in the Champions League. But sometimes you have to put other things in life ahead of football. Tom Nordlie wish the team, support staff and the players good luck and hope for continued success, “writes the team.”
Nordlie would not elaborate on why he gives himself, but said in a SMS to TV 2 that “it is personal.”
Help coach takes over in the run
Nordlie took over the team before this season, and, as the press release says, taking the team to the cup final and also to a provisional second place in the league.
A miracle needed to deprive Lillestrom league title, but Avaldsnes has good control of the important second place, which gives Champions League games.
“The club would like to thank Tom Nordlie efforts which among other things resulted in the club is ready for the Cup final and is well placed in the battle for a place in next year’s Champions League. The club wants Tom Nordlie continued success.
