(Dagbladet): “Warum Schalke ????????”
This was the message that came on Kevin-Prince Boateng cell phone when he chose to sign for German Schalke 04 in 2013. The sender was former Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp.
“Warum” is German for “why”. Klopp wanted to know why Boateng, who had previously been on loan to Dortmund, chose to play for the big rival to the gulkledde.
This is a good illustration of Jürgen Klopp. 48-year-old is as much a fan as manager, and behave accordingly. You will see active manager on the sidelines in the Premier League if Klopp and Liverpool agree a deal. Klopp screaming, running and celebrates as if he were part of the fanbase.
– To understand his popularity is easy. He has never changed. He is the genuine article. When you see him exercising or talking to people he is always himself. There is no mask, he does not pretend that he is something else. He’s a guy you’d taken a beer with, says Lars Wallrodt in the German newspaper Die Welt, according to The Telegraph.
Charisma
German is known to be a very charismatic person who is there natural centerpiece when he enters a room. The charismatic smile is almost always lurking.
At the same time he may seem a little crazy at times, which probably is why he also attracts “wrong players.” He even mentioned Zlatan Ibrahimovic that kind of player.
– I would have had no problem working with Ibrahimovic. We would come along well. Gale players like me. I do not know why, have Klopp previously stated.
48-year-old has been deported eight times during the time in Dortmund. He does not deny that he has a slightly darker side.
– Normally, I’m a very kind guy, but if someone presses the red button, so it can happen, has Klopp previously stated.
Motivator
Klopp is widely known to be a good motivator. It would talk show host Johannes B. Kerner find out more about, and asked Klopp following question before a television broadcast:
– Everyone says you can fire up people. If I were one of your players, what would you do to get my adrenaline pumping?
Klopp viewed Kerner for a moment, before he gave him a slap in the face with his open hand, writes among others Daily Mail.
The German is no stranger to giving people a little thrashing. Here you can see a video of how Klopp gives player Marian Sarr a slap in the face, before the player soon afterwards gets a warm hug.
Klopp quickly becomes fond of his players, and has previously stated that Shinji Kagawa move to Manchester United was like “a heart attack”.
Style Icon
Klopp steered Mainz after seven seasons until 2008. Afterwards, he held on to the port of Hamburg, which scouted in German on several occasions.
Hamburg-spies disliked, however, that Klopp wore holey pants. There was also a big minus that he was not shaved properly. It ended with him being removed from the list of potential managers, and went to Borussia Dortmund instead, writes magazine Four Four Two.
Klopp other words, not afraid to put on training sports when he directs troops from the sidelines.
Heavy metal
In contrast to Liverpool’s historic play by having the ball most of the team, all football about something completely different for Klopp. It is important to win the ball high in the field and use speed to attack the game.
Klopp has previously featured Arsenal’s slightly more elaborate acting as a “silent song,” before adding that he was bigger fan of “heavy metal” .
And he will by all means do not see their team play like Barcelona, despite the fact that the team has dominated in Europe for several seasons.
– I want it loud . If Barcelona team who has played the last four years was the first football team I saw when I was four years old, I played tennis. Club fighting football I like. One rainy day, a heavy track, where all is dirty face – and then they go home and can not play football in the next four weeks, says Klopp according to The Telegraph.
There is a perception that Klopp approach to the game will suit Liverpool like a glove. Time will prove whether Klopp is right man for the task, and if he at all will take over the red ones.
