The clubs league and Division 1 men have met to give their feedback to the proposals NTF and the Dutch consultancy Hypercube submitted about a month ago. According union leaders VG spoke to were clear majority to retain the league structure mostly as today.
That means no to reduce the number of teams in the premier league from the current 16 to either 14 or 12, to introduce Playoffs modeled as in Scotland or Belgium, and a resounding no to move the cup final in the spring.

“Hopeless”
The clubs are however open to make changes from the level three. It applies to the proposal of two departments at level three and four departments at level four.
– We are open to discuss the pyramid, but otherwise we negative to proposals that are launched. We do not think it will make football more attractive, and to move the cup final is hopeless, says Odds CEO Einar Håndlykken VG.
Norwegian football sports manager Jo Vand, head of the project, expressing appreciation for clubs attitude.
– I had perhaps thought that they would look at options with slightly larger curiosity, but I have great respect for that it is a difficult discussion clubs, he says to VG.

Toppfotball manager Nils Johan Semb has been clear that he wanted to change the league system.
– It was unfortunate when we went from 14 to 16 teams, we should rather have gone the other way. Whether report from Hypercube by political treatment ends with 16-, 14- or 12-club series, I’m pretty sure there will be a change that will stimulate competition. It is a must, said Semb in a lecture in October.
