The Turkish big club Fenerbahce lagbuss was shot on his way home from away match against Rizespor Saturday. The bus driver is injured.
A number of shots were fired at the bus when Fenerbahçe squad were heading home to Istanbul after beating Rizespor 5-1 in Rize on the Black Sea, said the club’s vice-president Mahmut Uslu.
Neither player is injured, but the bus driver was taken to hospital with injuries to his face. Uslu, who was in the bus during the attack, accusing the offender for having tried to “crash the bus and killing players.”

Images of the bus shows several bullet holes in the windshield. The shooting occurred when the bus was at the town of Trabzon. The city’s governor confirms episode and says the bus driver is not life-threatening injured.

Police cordoned off the area and stopped all traffic until Fenerbahçe squad were transported safely to the airport.
The governor added that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is himself Fenerbahçe supporter , has called him to inquire about the investigation of the attack.
The Turkish Football Federation condemns the attack in a statement and asks that the perpetrators are brought to justice “immediately.” (© NTB)
