Teams runner, Simen Sveen, is aware that he is going to go bad quickly in the Tour de Ski, if he gets going. Last year was the second best Norwegian up the brutal Monster Bakken.
But this year think Sveen it gets harder to come by, especially after he had to retire Saturday’s 30 km in Davos, but also because of the Norwegian dominance.
Asked their own diagnosis
Already Friday famous 27-year-old that there was something wrong. Stomach hurt and during the regular work trip it was hard to breathe.
– I just thought that if I get enough sleep will be okay for sure. You become the expert to convince himself that it here is fine, says Sveen above NRK.
He felt stomach pains when he took a deep breath, and after 15 kilometers he had to break the race that really should strengthen Tour application.
Down by the trailer he got cramps and had oksiganmangel. And was sent straight to hospital where he is diagnosed gastroenteritis. A form of acute inflammation of the digestive tract.
Medical student, who graduated this week, looking in hindsight that he ought not started the race.
– The worst part is that this is part of the curriculum for the exam, so I thought I would get repeated it this way. But this I remember the exam, there is no danger.
– Had been ready if he went for another nation
Sveen is clear that it was this race which should strengthen application to kommed in the squad for the Tour de Ski. But realize that there is little we get done when the disease first conditions is satisfied.
– It is not me who sets his team. But it is clear that there are very many Norwegians go skiing up a day, and it makes it so that it is a tough pasture to be picked out from, he said.

One of those who will take out the Norwegian team to highlight this championship-free season is national coach Trond Nystad. He thinks this year’s withdrawal even more difficult considering that there are so many good Norwegians who have won the day.
– There are many good candidates who are sitting at home in January. But there is an overall assessment we start with after Toblach, says Nystad.
He says that the national team is going to give priority to taking the sprinters vying for the overall win in the Sprint Cup since two of the stages in Tour record on the summary, together with the clear overall favorites.
– Had Simen gone for any other nation, he had almost already been taken out, he concludes.
