Two quick goals rescued Arsenal from humiliation against Stoke – but points were still not.
STOKE – ARSENAL 3-2
The first hour at the Britannia ravaged Stoke with helpless Arsenal players. For a while it seemed to go against pure league of its own by Arsene Wenger’s team. But five good minutes midway through the second half saved some of the effect, and it became a more normal profit than a while seemed to be.
Even before the minutes were played at the Britannia had Peter Crouch started the scoring. In the aftermath of a long pass was the towering header strongest in the field and put the 1-0 at Stoke.
After the thirty was so Bojan Krkic ‘audacity and doubled their lead. On the sidelines wondered already Wenger on how this would end. And already before the break, it would be even worse.
Again, Peter Crouch central. This time ended up with his header strike partner Jonathan Walters, who could insert 3-0.
Grip of Wenger
It was becoming league of its own – and Wenger was forced to taking action. He took out full-back Hector Bellerin and threw catching up attacker Danny Welbeck. Without paid off with the very first. Stoke continued to run the match and had a fighting chance to make it 4-0.
But now also Arsenal bit with offensively and Alexis Sanchez should be reduced, but only hit the post after a scant hour. Then Stoke audacity again, and everyone thought it was 4-0 when Bojan again got the ball in the net. But the goal was – something questionable – canceled.
With that warning woke finally Arsenal full, at least for a moment. Wenger had also made their second substitution: Olivier Giroud out, Lukas Podolski in.
Mame Biram Diouf hooked Mathieu Flamini in the 16-yard box. Penalty charges Santi Cazorla goal with half half left to play.
Red Arsenal
The little hope that was sparked by the punishment took full guy just three minutes later. A delightful volley by Aaron Ramsey made it 3-2. League of its own was about to become a memorable collection.
Fully so good it should not end for Arsenal, who failed to score more goals. However contracted the young central defender Calum Chambers in something inexperienced view his second yellow card after 78 minutes.
So we had Arsenal complete the hunt for the equalizer with ten men. It would prove to be too onerous task.
Stoke kept away in the five additional minutes and secured the three points.
While Arsene Wenger can at least breathe a sigh of relief to have escaped the worst humiliation.
Arsenal remain on 23 points after 15 matches. It keeps to a sixth place in the table. Fourth Place held by Manchester United, two points ahead with a game in hand.
