Norwegian Ski Association writes on its website that its application to join the World Cup organizer in 2021 in Granåsen in Trondheim was sent to the International Ski Federation (FIS) this week.
Ships Resident Erik Røste, Trondheim mayor Rita Ottervik and Secretary General of the ski federation, Stein Opsal signed application before it was sent to the FIS President Gian Franco Kasper leading the way.
The deadline for applications was set for May 1, and it is demanded a new and more comprehensive application by September 1.

Sixth time
The decision on who is going to get the championship in 2021, taken by the FIS in 2016, and if Norway were to succeed, it becomes so, the sixth time this championship goes on Norwegian soil. Previously there have been four championships in Oslo (1930 1966, 1982
and 2011) and one in Trondheim (1997).
Rita Ottervik will lead efforts to WSC to Trondheim.

– This is a wonderful destination for us. People in Trondheim still talk about folk festival in 1997. It was a great experience for the whole region, said Mayor Rita Ottervik to skiforbundet.no.
She emphasizes that a new World Championship event is far more than a purely Trondheim event. The mayor is looking forward to being able to get a World Cup again, and for Trønders it will mean a long-awaited upgrading of Granåsen plant.

42. time
In 2021 comes the WSC to be arranged for 42. time, and already decided that Lahti in Finland and Seefeld in Austria will organize the next championships in 2017 and
2019.
Currently, there is not 100 percent clear who is on the candidate list for 2021, apart from Trondheim and Norway.
