Vålerengas hockey upswing – Dagsavisen

JORDAL AMFI: Sparta was centimeters from equalizing in stoppage time, but VIF took home his second win in three days. Six points in two games was suddenly payoff for Vålerenga after only one of the five previous. Such doing something with the mood of a team.

It was due to a new sacrificing spirit when it gets tough as bad. The last two minutes played in Sparta hideout, and then compared it a lot on the fight against Lørenskog last week when guests equalized nine seconds before the end and then win on penalty strokes. It did not happen now and hence can VIF get a nice ending in front of the Christmas holidays

Scored two goals

Jørgen Karterud was tonight’s profile with his two goals in the first period. Sparta took the lead after just three minutes when Henrik Malmström, but from there and into VIF was most aggressive in a chance poor match. Karterud equalized in powerplay when Fredrik CSIS put him up three minutes later. Same Karterud ended the period by 2-1 50 seconds before the break. VIF pushed high, regained the puck and scored against a fumbling Sparta team. It was in practice this war no one who decided the match.

Can be positive

VIF accustomed shot statistics in the first two periods (9.5 and 3.6), while Sparta took the last (7-10). Martin Laumann Ylven increased VIFs lead late in the middle period, while there was battle again when Jeff Jubinville reduced in the third period. But then showed Vålerenga they are completely addicted to win regular hockey fights: To fight collectively.

Three games remain for VIF before Christmas holidays: Manglerud / Star away Sunday Lillehammer and Stjernen home away next week. Created know they can beat anyone when everyone is on. As they have been in the last two games. But right in the final seconds against Sparta was the goalkeeper Steffen Søberg who literally came to the rescue.

Oilers lost

Series Leader Stavanger Oilers lost its lead to Lørenskog after they surprisingly lost 2-3 against Lillehammer. The defeat came after Liks Eric Meland scored in extension. The result allows Lørenskog now is à point (47). Lørenskog won 4-0 away against Frisk Asker Thursday night.
