Laminitis unknown Vikersund drama: – It could have ended in disaster – Dagbladet.no

VIKERSUND (Dagbladet): Johann André Forfang was delighted with today’s second place in skiflying competitions in Vikersund. Peter Prevc won.

At the press conference after the race told Forfang about the reasons why he suddenly was on the podium again, and if an unfamiliar drama happened Friday.

– Yesterday should Thomas Hörl (material manager) make clear my skis. He needed shoes to customize bindings. He took one look at the shoes and discovered that bonding fasteners were broken. It could have ended in disaster if we had not discovered it. That’s where Rear toe binding attached to the shoes. The skis could tumbled in the air, told Forfang.

– If you lose your skis in the air, it’s not good.

Fell in Kulm

Forfang do not know how long he has jumped that way, but connects the defective shoes to fall under skiflyging Championships in Kulm in January. The broken bond fasteners were noted between first and second place yesterday.

– You do not notice something in the air. Binding Feasts hold until they are broken off, he said.

– Thomas undercut parts of the hindquarters of the shoes and left a aluminiumsbit.

thoughts go to the Austrian ski jumper Lukas Müller. He got into trouble with the equipment that try hopping in Kulm and fell. Today he lambs.

– I do not believe I was so close. However, I had jumped with skis over time, could it end like that eventually, says Forfang.

New Shoes

Today he jumped with new shoes. Tromso jumper says:

– Luckily we have Thomas Hörl as materials manager. He discovers errors before it goes wrong. I feel safe with him.

He was cursed by midweek race in Granåsen, what would be his home. Today he was content with second place.

Forfang jumped 229 and 222 meters.

– It was a bit difficult in Trondheim, so it was good to get to this. I thrive in Vikersund, and is excited about tomorrow, he said.

Content Stöckl

coach Alexander Stöckl satisfied with one podium and four

Norwegians in the top ten. Kenneth Gangnes finished fourth, Daniel Andre Tande nine Andreas Stjernen ten.

– It was a good competition again by us. An amazing team effort. I am very happy, says Stöckl Dagbladet.

The sporting director Clas Brede Braathen turn even more the big drum:

– It’s a little piece jumps story printed . The team we have now is probably the all-time Norwegian hopplag. And we have excavated from the ashes. After the season last year stopped six or seven of the top 15 ski jumpers in Norway. Among them two of our very best (Anders Bardal and Anders Jacobsen). Bardal was the glue of the team, says Braathen.
