Fourcade: Focusing on cross again and move to Oslo – ht.no

Martin Forucades big goals in the season that has just ended, came to nothing. The man who has won the World Cup biathlon past four years, had decided to invest in cross-country and World Championships in Falun.



The big dream

– It was my dream and my big goals this season, told Martin Fourcade Aftenposten earlier this winter.

There was no World Cup without rifle the sovereign Frenchman. In late summer he got mononucleosis and was out of training in six weeks.

– After the illness I was forced to make a choice. I chose to devote all our energies biathlon. Thus I chose away Championships in Falun. But I did it with a heavy heart, he said in the winter.

Now sign the French sports newspaper L’Equipe that 26-year-old has not given up hope, hope adding also Norwegian cross-country skiers behind him. According to the French newspaper he is ready to go 10 km freestyle during the opening of the season in Finnish Kuusamo 28 November.

These competitions will not collide with the World Biathlon. The World Cup starts the weekend after the Swedish Östersund. But throughout the season comes Fourcade to date collisions.



Moves to Oslo

Martin Fourcade, who becomes a father for the first time in late summer, have already decided that parts of the build-up to Biathlon World Championships in Oslo next year, will be done in just Oslo. He has already found a suitable apartment.

Thus, the Oslo-residents Norwegian biathletes be ever hit on his toughest competitor in training at Holmenkollen.
