Tromsdalen – Bodo / Glimt 6-2
2-division team Tromsdalen won all 6-2 against Bodo / Glimt in Cup’s third round Thursday night.
Thus, half of the league teams – eight in all – knocked out of the tournament after three rounds.
According to VG, the first time since 1962 that something similar has happened.
Both Vålerenga Start, Haugesund and Tromsø were knocked out some sensational view of the second championship round in May. Three additional teams from elite series would suffer the same fate in the third round Wednesday night: Aalesund, Lillestrom and Strømsgodset.
And Thursday night there was thus Glimt turn. Elitserien side lay for a while under 0-3 and never managed to get back.
Two penalty misses
Tor Martin Mienna arranged 1-0 after 16 minutes in Tromso. Vegard Lysvoll put 2-0 nine minutes later. Glimt had the opportunity to reduce the penalty, but Danny Cruz missed by a good half hour. 40 minutes were played when Hakon Kjæve arranged 3-0.
Fitim Azimi reduced for college made Glimpse just before the break after pass from Henrik Fure Botn.
Seven minutes into the 2nd half was 4-1, and once again it was Vegard Lysvoll scored. Substitute Alexander Sørloth reduced again to 4-2 and gave the visitors renewed hope. It was reinforced when Troms Dalens tomålsscorer Lysvoll missed a penalty just two minutes later.
