The International Ski Federation (FIS) postpones the question of economic cohesion in cross-country sport.
It is determined during the annual calendar conference of FIS, which this year is held in Varna in Bulgaria.
The proposed redistribution of support from the organizers of the various nations was not adopted now. Nor was introduced somewhat maximum charge of how many athletes a nation will have covered expenses in connection with the World Cup.
The case has been postponed until autumn meeting in Zurich. Where it will be discussed further, and any changes will not be implemented until the 2016/17 season.
Unfair
Several nations believe that the big nations have become too large and powerful, and that the economic unevenness is unfair.
– All nations agree that it is important that as many countries as possible and that they hold such a high level as possible. This means that in future we probably need to share revenue slightly different, but such an important decision requires good procedure and we will therefore work through the matter before the Autumn meeting in Zurich.
– We must ensure that measures are implemented to meet the challenges we have. The amendments will therefore take effect from 2016/17 season, according to a joint statement from Skinstad, cross country boss, the federation and Vegard Ulvang, the leader in cross-country committee for FIS.
Introduces restrictions
If the proposals are on the table is adopted, it will constitute that Norway may have additional expenses of up to one million dollars.
– Income distribution is not determined, and my personal goal is that we can “increase the cake size» so that both the top (as at present) and the smaller and weaker nations can get some support, says Skinstad said.
FIS introduces simultaneous restrictions on how much support cross-nations may have on the ski trails before starting a verdenscuprenn.I the overall rationale states:
– Everyone also agrees that it is very important that the trails are as good as possible when ski races start. On this basis, introduced some general restrictions on the number who gets to be on the slopes before starting. Here it is taken into account teams’ size, so everyone gets rendered great service to their runners, said the statement from Skinstad and Ulvang.
In a proposal was put forward that no nation had more than six service people in ski racing before the start, but as drastic, it was not.
– We get ten track. The smallest nations will have six and some get eight. In addition, the runners being there last hour before the start. When bad conditions can be made further restrictions, even down to the trail is closed before starting. We work in parallel to achieve better test areas in or adjacent to the trail, says Skinstad.
