To answer Johaug on Wenger powerful invitation – Aftenposten

The World Champion has been a special challenge of her teammates.

SOGN MOUNTAINS: Heidi Weng conducted its best season of his career last winter.

With Marit Bjoergen out of the competitive picture coming season there Weng is Therese Johaug nearest challenger to Queen throne.

Cross-country skiers is of course for the longest time with preparations for a new season. Weng has impressed greatly in uphill race and secured earlier this summer title as champion when she won Skuggeporten Dalen Opp.

Weng about course record: My best race, regardless of the season

Weng’m sure she would have had a tough challenge of national girlfriend.

– It depends a little on how the course is. I think Therese is better than me. She is incredibly good on gravel and asphalt, where I do nothing to follow. But where it gets difficult terrain, very much stones and one has to climb a little, where I have my strengths, says Weng Aftenposten.

She is therefore a challenge to Johaug.

– It had be nice if she showed up on Stohesten Up and see if she beats my record there. I think this is my best race, regardless of the season, said Weng.

The 11-kilometer race held this year on August 22 and has a climb of 1200 meters. Weng has track record of 1.17,14.

Johaug focus only on becoming a better skier

It does not appear to be any duel between the two up against Stohesten year.

– No, I have not really focused on me to do a good job to reach my goal in cross country skiing in the winter and do not want to set up in many mountain race in the summer, said the triple world champion from Falun in winter.

Both Johaug and Weng focuses on developing themselves in making this summer. The Tour de Ski and Tour of Canada that winter’s two major høydpunkter, it also becomes more important for allround skaters to be good at Sprints.

Johaug has therefore decided not to run.

– I to be included in Toppidrett Veka in Aure, and surely run Fonna Up in there. So then it becomes at least one race this summer. Outside of that I do not intend to participate in any more, says Johaug.

Fonna Up is a race of 5.3 kilometers and have an incline of 650 meters. Johaug put last record of the race and race at 32.01,6.

Johaug beat Weng in running duel earlier this year

The two also competed in the toughest stage under Holmenkolstafetten year . In the foothills of the Besserud on Johaug clocked off time 6:45 minutes, which were two seconds faster than Weng.
