22 years ago on 13 October a field day in Norway. Tonight we need a new accomplishment – Dagbladet.no

ROMA (Dagbladet): In the 90s it was easy to create newspaper before large and important qualifying matches with the national team.

At the time we only got one of the players to say “TONIGHT WE TAKE THEM”, “these things we” or “Drillo MEAN IT IS 62.5 PERCENT CHANCE FOR VICTORY” – it was not worse than that.

And then smeared we do it out of the first page along with a photo Jostein Flo, mosquitoes, Rune Bratseth, Tore Andre Flo, or whoever it might be.

The rest took football madness off.

FOR IT WAS football madness in Norway at the time we did playoff participation a habit (1994, 1998 and 2000). The newspapers sold as Hakka dung on game day and the day after. People were hungry football and the beautiful game was important. And when I sat at Ullevaal Saturday night and heard the atmosphere and so the wave sweep grandstand sections around, several of the good memories from the 90s back.

I’m not saying that AS Stein Røysa are there just yet.

But we are well on our way.

NORWEGIAN VICTORY ON Olympiastadion tonight – one of football’s impregnable fortresses, Italy has never missed a qualifier Rome – will take us there. Then orge in EM. With victory will Project Høgmo be a success in the first attempt. But having said that, the likelihood of that happening so that Norway beats Italy on a stadium they have won 16 and played seven draws qualifiers, is not very big.

And now stay tuned; it suits us alldeles excellent.

DA Drillo hatched out the tactical genius and took Norway to the US Championships for exactly 22 years ago today – 3-0 over Poland in Poznan the 13. October 1993 – we had waited an eternity for an international playoff.

Today – here in Rome on 13 October 2015 – we have been waiting since the millennium. And the pace of the world now progresses he seems like an eternity too.

The only thing that has stood still, the principles in the road to success.

WHEN WE SLO Pole 23 years ago was the mainstay of the Norwegian game good structure and exemplary defensive balance. We were not very keen to have the ball. The only thing we thought of was to optimize the use of the set pieces and the times we took the Poles with his pants down. And we did the time in Poznan, we played sports coaches football at it’s best and most exemplary.

If we beat Italy tonight have some of the elements optimized again.

good defensive BALANCE is a given in today’s football. And a absloutt requirements for success. Be it the coaching staff, Jürgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola – the metal for all offensive force, brilliance and creativity is a solid defensive play. And with opponent in place comes the will to attack risk. Everything of course depends on the adversary and the importance of the result.

NORWAY MEETING TONIGHT one of the industry’s toughest opponents in a battle we MUST win. Therein lies a bit tactical headaches. How much risk should take when Norway? Or to put it another way, how long, whether it’s 0-0, we have the patience to be patient. The coaching staff have a plan, you can be assured, and a plan and another and another.

But first and foremost it’s all about the team and the players’ skills.

WE ARE In the zone, comes from good experiences founded on good craftsmanship interspersed with elements of quality and have everything to win tonight. It is a good starting point. The worst that can happen is that we get a chance in November. So even though no one says it out loud, we do not have the self-confidence just yet, it is possible to see some 90s over Norway per right now.

I do not know what the percentages are.

But “TONIGHT WE TAKE THEM”.
