Serie A and La Liga fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Eventually a Norwegian television deal in place for Italian and Spanish football.
Viasat has secured rights through the parent company MTG. Earlier this fall, they secured themselves French Ligue 1.
– We are now on the rights to several of the major leagues outside England. In addition we have from before the Champions League, the inner fillet in international club football, says CEO of MTG Norway, Trygve Rønningen in a statement.
– We are looking forward to present this to our viewers and may well now call Viasat and Viaplay for the home of European football. Beside that all leagues are top sporting quality, it will of course be particularly exciting for us Norwegians to follow Real Madrid and Martin Ødegaard come. I see that Martin himself has expressed a desire that the Spanish league is watching Norwegian TV. The desire is hereby fulfilled, says Rønningen on.
In the fall, Italian and Spanish league football been streamed via various Norwegian websites.
TV3 sent Serie A football in the 1990s. Now comes the Italian series back in Viasat system. La Liga and Serie A rights lasts until season 2017/18.
