Rekdal: – Rosenborg bursting with arrogance and self – Aftenposten

Vålerenga travel Lerkendal with a clear goal to give league leaders beating in Sunday’s top match.

VALLE ( Aftenposten): Rosenborg has looked like Rosenborg under Kåre Ingebrigtsen. It has Vålerenga and coach Kjetil Rekdal both been noticing and sets. After losing 2-1 at Ullevaal in June mean VIF coach the team has learned. Now Oslo-made show that there is a connection between theory and practice.

– We know how Rosenborg player, says Rekdal to Aftenposten.

Rosenborg have scored the most goals, conceded the fewest, won the most matches, lost the fewest and most points. That is the simple summation of Trønders after 19 rounds. The team has match-winners galore, are in form and playing attacking football as the gold years. Rekdal obviously knows all this, and must make a plan to stem home team. While his own team must find a way to klå them.

– We meet a good team that has many strengths. And if we’re not at our best from the first kick the ball we get problems. We may get even if we are at our very best as well. I think Rosenborg has evolved and taken a few more steps from the spring season. They have become even better. They are brimming with arrogance and self-confidence and score a lot of goals. They have individual players who can make a difference, so it will be a tough task for us. But we have by no means intend to leave Rosenborg disappear into the horizon as a sovereign champions every year even though it looks like it will be that way for years, says Vålerenga coach.

No one in VIF was particularly pleased with the score at Ullevaal in summer, or how Rosenborg gloated after settlement. There are extra gasoline in a well burning fire into the match.

– We want to beat them, so clear. But not because they are full of confidence. But for our own sake. Rosenborg have only good to get the fierce competition, it will develop them also. Our chance lies in a good performance and that maybe we are a little more effective than we have been until now. And in that Rosenborg might burn a little more chances than usual. I think the fight will be smoother than many have imagined beforehand, saying “I”.

– Is it all about taking out the profiles of Rosenborg, denying them workroom?

– Yes. It’s really about taking out the entire Rosenborg team. There are no head to head games, but more zone to zone. Our offensive players must take out Ole Selnæs the middle, our borders must stave off their backs, and each player must win their little war over the pitch.

Rosenborg have used the transfer window well. But it also Vålerenga. Last one in is an old acquaintance for most who follow football in Norway. Mohammed “Moa” Abdellaoue notified battle ready, and Rekdal know that he has a joker already to Sunday’s game, although Moa is rusty.

– He brings experience, leadership, smartness and goals. He has been in Germany and learned a lot and developed. Both as a player but also as a human being. His prudence is important to us. Are you not wise when playing in Germany, you are revealed. Now we’ll give him time. At its best, we know what he can do, what we saw in Germany to gangs, says Rekdal.

And continues:

– We have not had the tip that has tapped into goals this year as we had in Vidar Örn Kjartansson last year. But we are better as a team. There are several players who score and produce. Many thought that Vålerenga would become a team far down on the table when Vidar disappeared. It has disproved the time.

He will be without Herman Stengel who must quarantine zone. Otherwise Moa little uncertain, as is Daniel Fredheim Holm, Alexander Mathisen, Rasmus Lindkvist and Daniel Braaten.
