Finale Field in the 100 meters in athletics World Championships can be a sad sight.
Four of the leading contenders for Usain Bolt 100 is in the World Cup in just over a week, all served penalties for doping.
The fiercest rival, Justin Gatlin, have even served two doping judge.
– It is a pity that athletics is so infected by doping, says NRK commentator Jann Post.
– It takes away a little of the enthusiasm and joy to know that so many people have cheated, he said.
– Slipper for cheap
The men’s 100 meters at the World Championships are too many Championship highlight. But starting grid in the final could come to include four former dopingtatte sprinters. In addition to Justin Gatlin (33) applies to two of his colleagues in the American team, Tyson Gay (33) and Mike Rodgers (30) – and Asafa Powell (32) from Jamaica.
– There are brutal, and the last weeks revelations show the unfortunately that athletes have a serious doping problem. And Sprint have historically proven to be one of the branches with the most doping, says Jann Post.
He believes the culprits release for cheap.
– I think anyone who is taken seriously doping should have been out of the sport for good. By that I mean intake of steroids and tampering with blood. Meanwhile, rules that athletes are free to compete when they have atoned finished their sentences. It’s something I just have to deal with me. But I must admit that I think my every time I see these skiers in action, says Post.

Better Than Ever
– Do they have a credibility problem?
– Yes, I think so. Research also shows that one can profit by doping for years to come. A long-term effect is documented. It also provides an aftertaste, responding Post.
– We hope the international Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) will take the problem seriously, and they do a solid job of getting rid of cheaters. But there is a long way to go.
The duel Bolt against Gatlin is expected to be one of VMs definite highlights.
Gatlin has come back stronger than ever after he in 2010 had atoned finished his last dopingdom. He has been completely superb so far this year and has won in impressive times: 9.74 in Doha, 9.75 in Rome, 9.75 in Lausanne and 9.78 in Monaco.
– Fire races on 9.7-century suggests that he has more inside. I think Bolt must be reduced below 9.70 to beat him, says Post. Jamaicans have the world record at 9.58, from the Berlin World Championships in 2009.
has not met in two years
This year he has come late – but well – on the pitch. In London he ran twice at 9.87, and won clearly.
– In the semifinals, where he made 9.87 in 1.2 seconds meter headwind, and jogged the last few meters. So I think he can challenge Justin Gatlin. It will probably most of all act on the two, think Jann Post. They have not met since the World Cup in Moscow in 2013. When Bolt won in 9.77 ahead of Gatlin, who got 9.85.
Usain Bolt was in practice throughout the 2014 season due to injuries, and to prepare for the World Cup season. In his absence ravaged Gatlin, and won what was. He still has the same impressive way this year; no one has been close to beating him.
Also at 200 meters, he has been strong. He won the US championship at 19.57 which is the fifth best of all time.
Eight years were to four years
Justin Gatlin was first taken all at age 19. He was banned for two years in 2001 after testing positive for amphetamines. He came back strongly and won both Olympic gold in 2004 and World Championship gold in both the 100 and 200m in 2005 before he tested positive again in 2006, this time for testosterone.
He was originally eight years Suspensions, but the sentence was later reduced to four years.
Gatlin has a scholarship in the 100 meters at the World Cup, because he won the Diamond League standings last year.
In his absence race Tyson Gay to victory in the American championship, ahead of Mike Rodgers.
Growth Hormones
Both have served doping judge. Gay was revealed by the London Olympics, after using a cream containing testosterone and growth hormones. He apologized that he had relied too much on people he had confidence and agreed to cooperate with US anti-doping agency USADA. Coach Jon Drummond was eventually banned for eight years.
Collaboration Will gave Gay a one-year penalty reduction.
– The circumstances surrounding the case was special. He had reduced the sentence to one year, but we never knew what he was taken or what he told USADA. It was placed a cap over the matter as I do not like, says Post.
Got plea
Mike Rodgers failed a drug test in 2011. He claimed initially that he drank an energy drink at a club in Italy. Later he admitted that he had taken a substance called “Jack3d” and accepted the 9-month ban. He was taken to spending methylhexaneamine, a stimulant that is common in nutritional supplements and energy drink.
Asafa Powell was banned for 18 months after testing positive for oksilofrin at the Jamaican championships in June 2013. He maintained that he had not taken this substance knowingly, but that he had taken legal supplements containing the substance. He blamed her Canadian coach, Chris Xureb, for getting this supplement. Powell appealed the matter to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and this instance reduced the sentence to six months – so that he could immediately compete again from July 14, 2014.
