Rosenborg crushed Mjøndalen – now waiting Stabæk – OBI Online

– This was plain sailing. We got better and better throughout the game. We are solid, and score some nice goals, said Rosenborg coach Kåre Ingebrigtsen to NRK after the game.

Mjøndalen started the match best, but Rosenborg settled with three goals in the first half. The first came after 16 minutes.

Mike Jensen let in front of goal, and there waited Fredrik Midtsjø. He chest the ball to Alexander Søderlund who was at the races. Elite Series top scorer thanks to his pass by tapping into 1-0.

– One has to take the chances you get, said Søderlund after the game.

28-year-old could score once more just before the break, when he upresset scores over the bar from seven meters.

Opened scoring account
Yann-Erik de Lanlay scored his first goal for Rosenborg when he let on 2-0 after 28 minutes.

Pål André Helland show the right wing, and reeling the Erik Midtgarden before he chipped the ball in front of goal. Where were they Lanlay, and the former Viking player ran free and has scored fine header.

The locals kept up the pressure, and could go to the break with a deserved 3-0 lead after matthías vilhjálmsson scored eleven minutes before the break.

The visitors could not get into the game again, and Rosenborg continued to create trouble in the attack.

Turns forward
Helland was active on edge, and proved up time and again. He was involved in both 2-0 and 3-0 goal before he scored and set the final score to 4-0.

He scored his sixth cup goals 60 minutes into the game.

– It was 3-0 at half time, so when there were several who were told to take it easy in the second half. Now we fill Lerkendal and give Vålerenga a real struggle, said Helland after the victory against Mjøndalen. When asked what it is that makes Rosenborg so strong this year he was clear:

– It is the interaction of the team that decides. It’s easy for me to position myself and get the ball where I am good because we are so interoperable and know where we can find each other.

Stabæk waiting
The semi-finals of the Cup was drawn right after the match. Where it became clear that Rosenborg meetings Stabæk home in Trondheim, while Viking receive visits from Sarpsborg.

– It is the same whom we meet, we will win regardless. Stabæk are a good team, but we have shown that we can beat the former, said goalscorer Søderlund when the draw was ready.

Teammate Helland agreed.

– As long as we got home game there is one fat whom we meet. Here we have not lost in one year, he said.
