Lørenskog cheated Oilers for club record – Bergens Tidende

Ended win the series to Stavanger Oilers.

Stavanger – Lørenskog 2-3 (0-0, 1- 1, 1-2).

Leaders Oilers could equal the club record for number of wins in a row if they beat Lørenskog at home Thursday night, but instead it was the guests who took his fourth victory of the last five away games in the DNB Arena when they turned 2-1 to 2-3.

Oilers dominated the first period

And it was also Lørenskog who took the lead in the Oilers’ venue. Stavanger team got its first major chance of the match after just 27 seconds of play, but Tyler Plant in Lørenskog goal cleaned up.

Petter Thoresen’s men dominated the entire first period, but the timing and the passes were not as precise as when Vålerenga was humiliated at Jordal Tuesday. Still, the Oilers very close to taking the lead several times during the first 20 minutes. The guests, who were tied for 2nd place at the table, ten points behind the Oilers before Thursday’s game, had a couple of good opportunities, but rarely got the puck loan of Oilers players full of confidence. League leaders clear, however, never to outwit Plant in LIK-cage during the first period, which ended goalless despite 13-4 in shots.

Middle period started with an Oilers penalty, and it was also Lørenskog ability to take the initiative in the game. And that chance did not Østlendingen go by. Oilers lost some of its momentum, and the visitors were very close to gaining the lead in the subsequent over centuries. Goals were not, however, and soon after got Tommy Kristiansen and Dan Kissel a fighting chance alone against Tyler Plante. Beating back

Lørenskog thus took his fourth victory in the last five away games in the DNB Arena, and made sure to put an effective end to Stavanger team’s winning streak.
