Sovereign Norwegian jump gold – Dagsavisen

FALUN: Anders Bardal, Anders Jacobsen, Anders Fannemel and Rune Velta broke Austrian longtime dominance of the team competition in large ground when they secured Norwegian gold Saturday night.

All Norwegians delivered in the race, and victory was never really threatened.

Before last jump had Velta an ocean down to Austria and he solidified the victory with 121 yards.

– I felt that the guys had done the job and for me it was just to do a normal jump. There I got to, and when we secured the gold. It was delicious, said Velta NRK just after the gold to the bank.

Thus Norway won 19.4 points ahead Austria. Poland was number three.

revenge Jacobsen

It is the first time since 1993 that Norway wins team competition in large hill at the World Championships. It was also laggull back in 1982. Austria had won the last five World Cup competitions in big hill, but Saturday was the Austrians in reality defenseless against a Norwegian team who jumped very smoothly.

For Jacobsen is gold a huge revenge. The veteran was scrapped to the individual large hill ski race but battled to a spot on the team through good results in training.

– This was the big goal for me. To be part of this gang, and being able to perform at a fine level itself, is amazing. It did Championships complete, he said.

Picking Bardal

Jacobsen hinted that he will continue his career next season.

– My continued commitment evaluated after each season, but I’m highly motivated, he said with a smile.

For Fannemel was his first medal in the World Cup context.

– I’ve never been so nervous before a race, he said.

– This is huge. It has been the dream, and we managed it, said a relieved and touched Bardal.

VM has been a huge upswing for the Norwegian jumpers. Velta traveling home with all four medals. He won gold in the normal hill and large hill team competition and bronze from large hill competition and silver from mixed team competition.

– It is absolutely fantastic. It’s something we’ve dreamed about all summer. That we finally stand here as world champions is incredible, says Velta. (NTB)

National coach Alexander Stöckl was a happy man after Norway secured gold medal in the team competition in Falun.

Norway’s national coach was a proud and happy man on the plain after his practitioners secured the fourth medal in as many exercises in the World Championships in Falun.

– This is what it’s for me. For a coach it is greater to take gold in the team competition than in an individual race. Then we have four athletes who have delivered what they should and we are left with four world champions. It is absolutely amazing, says Alexander Stöckl.

It is normal enough

On the Norwegian team jumped Anders Bardal, Anders Jacobsen, Anders Fannemel and Rune Velta.

– We did not do anything particularly against competition. We had a regular rhythm, and the boys completed solid jumps. It is often enough in a team competition, he continued.

That Norway is left with two gold, silver and bronze after four competitions in Falun is far above the Austrian coach had dreamed in advance.

– Taking medal in every competition in a VM is very rare. It is just to thank for these days, in all humility. Now we are on the good side, but we’ve also been on the other side, most recently in the Olympics last year, he said.

Velta with four medals

Norway traveled home from Sochi Olympics with just one bronze. It went to Bardal in the small hill. In the team competition was the sixth place.

Rune Velta traveling home from the World Cup with two gold (normal hill and team competition), silver (mixed team event) and bronze (large hill).

Austria took the silver front Poland Saturday. (NTB)

Martin Johnsrud Sundby have small expectations ahead Sunday femmil … – Dagsavisen

Sport

(NTB)

Here is the only Swede who put Northug in place in Falun today – Dagbladet.no

FALUN (Dagbladet): It was during the international press conference after the Norwegian relay gold tonight, Petter Northug got himself no small surprise.

trøndere certainly had counted on to show off with “kaxiga” statements after parked Calle Halfvarsson on the run, but everything went not quite so VM king had thought.

When Petra Thorén, journalist in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet asked Northug and the other Norwegian guys what hush sign after the finish, meant black Trønder:

– It was you.

Sure Northug

And then occurred a little verbal duel between Northug and Thorén and the Norwegian Skikongen became increasingly more uncertain (see session in the video window):

Thorén: – Was it me? I wrote something wrong about you?

Northug: – No, it was meant as an honor.

Thorén: – Can you explain why?

Northug: – Uh, no, it will take too much time. It will be boring for everyone here.

Thorén: – Okay, so we can take it later?

Northug: – Yeah, we’ll take it next time.

Long story

When Dagbladet asks Petra Thorén about session tonight, she says that it was not appropriate to let Northug fun at her expense.

– He would kid around and would have the last word. He is not used to having someone answers him. I do not think he should sit to enjoy themselves at my expense in front of the press corps . When he gets rather explain, says Thorén.

The journalist, who has worked in Aftonbladet since 1994, says that she has followed Northug long, and that for more than four years ago suggested that she Northug should call his son for Peter.

Name Suggestions

– During Tour de Ski before the World Cup in Holmenkollen would I do a short interview with Petter outside the Norwegian smear bus. I ended up running beside him and told him to take it a little quiet since I was pregnant. Then he said that I had to give the child the name Peter, and that it would provide “instant success,” she says.

– Having said that, I do not think what happened today has nothing to do. I do not think Peter remembers the session, but it may he knows me because I have covered cross country for many years. He knows enough which newspaper I belong too. I think no matter that this was just a normal Petter response, she says.

Unsure gesture

– What do you think about hysjegesten?

– I’m pretty sure it was not me, but the question is who it was.

The question remains unanswered.

And if you’re wondering about Thorén gave his son the name Peter, the answer is no.

He called Elis.

Here shows Northug siniskalde winning mentality – NRK

While French Adrien Backscheider leg off in a clear lead, with Swedish Calle Halfvarsson on the back, we could on the first two rounds of the anchor leg see a Petter Northug that did not work very keen to chase.

On the contrary he several times behind, let it be a hatch to the two front and then retrieve them again.

Analyzed trail

29-year-old confirmed that he was so little concerned about lead that he rather spent the first half of the race to test different ways he could determine the relay on.

– I did not passed the course before the start, so I had to use the first two rounds to analyze a little and know little on the course. Some places were firmer places looser, so then one must before third round decide on a strategy, explains Northug.

– You then have ice in your stomach that makes stuff on an anchor leg?

– Yes. It’s about to come first above goals, and then you have to be a bit of analytic along the way. Today had been a scandal to be number two. It is about being icy, yet make each slide right on last round, said Northug.

NORWEGIAN GOLD: Here Halfvarsson sprinted sinking by Northug.

NORWEGIAN GOLD: Here Halfvarsson sprinted lowering of Northug.

Cheaper travel

Northug got answers he hoped under skitestingen. Glide was good. Thus, he could put up the pace a bit and use the last slopes to glide forward to the Frenchman. On the last little hill before the run he put in for the kill. Halfvarsson hung exactly with when he started the sprint, and Northug got that little lead that held until the finish line.

NRK commentator Jann Post says not many had other than Petter Northug had taken the time to skit stitch on an anchor leg.

– But Northug is customary. He’s trying to get a sense of how good glide he has, so he knows how much he can drop down the slopes along the way and so get a cheaper journey. He drops three to four feet above every hilltop and energy he saves where he uses in the sprint at the end, explains Post.

Revealing: Northug was ordered to do this – Nettavisen

Northug shushed Swedes after new victory asked: – It was a bad asked – Aftenposten

Norway took its eighth consecutive gold medal in the relay for new asked-knockout signed Northug.

FALUN / OSLO: Petter Northug Norway entered into its eighth consecutive gold medal in the relay in Falun after asking turned Calle Halfvarsson on the run.

– It was a scenario I have seen for myself in summer and fall, and not least in winter, says Petter Northug NRK.

Halfvarsson was only six tenths behind the goal. Swede held long road to Northug on the run, but at the very last meters was Mosvik no strongest – again.

– It was a bad asked. There was ice on the run, so it was impossible to hit. It was not any good, says Northug.

Niklas Dyrhaug did the job at Stage 1 when he came into the field. Didrik Tønseth got it heavily on their 2nd leg and had to drop Johan Olsson 20 seconds ahead. The second sourced Anders Gløersen in and exchanged only after a brilliant leg. Petter Northug went out first on the final leg but relax instantly France and Sweden up in front.

Northug lay back of the three, and he made France protrude from. But calm, controlled and icy went Northug into Frenchman. And when Halfvarsson tried last hill lay Northug glued on the tail.

And then everything would be settled, he was again unbeatable. For the relay there was only one king on Lugnet ski stadium. And he was Norwegian.

French Adrien Backscheider was an unknown quantity to most before the current flows, but 22-year-old impressed, and went his team into a clear third.

Dyrhaug with great debut

Norway had not lost a master relay since 1999, when Austria’s Christian Hoffmann spurtslo Thomas Alsgaard built on the run in Ramsau, before Friday’s settlement at Lugnet ski stadium in Falun.

Niklas Dyrhaug opened the event for Norway. In a duel with, among others Sweden Daniel Richardsson and Russia’s Maxim Vylegzhanin, let relay debutant championship away in light snowfall. Richardsson increased the pace out in the third round on the opening stage before Vylegzjanin took the lead and proved forward.

Olsson shows sprinkled field

Up Mördarbacken on last lap was however Niklas Dyrhaug sped up on. Then you had Daniel Richardsson drop forefront. Canada alternated first while Dyrhaug delivered a brilliant leg for Norway and exchanged directly behind. Sweden was the whole 20 seconds behind, and Johan Olsson got a tough task when he threw himself on the poles out of the stadium.

Didrik Tønseth let you in front in an attempt to keep Sweden at a safe distance. But Johan Olsson overtook Norway, Finland and Russia as long constituted a trio in the lead, at the halfway stage. Thus, there were five teams in front: Norway, Russia, Finland, France and Sweden.

Two teams were towards the end of the 2nd stage two. But Didrik Tønseth had to drop Olsson. The Swede, who seemed to have superski, put seven seconds down to Tønseth on top of the trail’s highest point. Inside the stadium to exchange, got Marcus Hellner 14 seconds forsparng down to Norway in 3rd place. France veksklet 2nd place, 6.7 seconds behind Sweden.

– I did not think it would go so well today. Hopefully it can go well on Sunday (femmila, editor.) Also, said Johan Olsson after his leg.

The bottom gas from Gløersen

An amazing leg of the Swede. While Tønseth hardly could have had perfect skis. He missed time also slip cover towards the stadium.

Anders Gløersen got a formidable task on 3rd leg for Norway. Bronze winner from 15-kilometer picked four seconds on the first lap and gave new hope gold medal.

He continued to enter Sweden and France in the lead after a tough opening on his leg. Glørersen, like Dyrhaug and Tønseth also her debut on relay for Norway, looked to have good skiing, and halfway stage he was on the front line.

And last hill before the finish jerked Gløersen and got weed. Marcus Hellner seemed run for Sweden, and had to drop. The same with France. Thus could Gløersen send Northug first.

Northug special

But the place was not Trønder interested in. He waited for France’s Adrien Back Scheide and Calle Halfvarsson from Sweden. While rivals Northug and Halfvarsson lay behind, jerked Frenchman and got four seconds hatch. Neither of the two behind motioned to would clog.

Before Northug took two stomach puffs and sealed the hatch.

When it tends to end with gold. It also made it this time.

PS! This was Northug third gold of the World Championships.

Will throw Tour winner teams from cycling – VG

Vincenzo Nibali (30) and Astana runs a highly uncertain future: Just four months before the Tour de France, it dopingbefengte made thrown out of the sport.

It writes the French newspaper L’Equipe great. The news has turned down like a bomb bike world Friday morning and was 09.28 clock confirmed in a press release sent out by the UCI.

Astana has a very controversial background: In 2007, the team’s current CEO, Alexandre Vinokourov, thrown out of the Tour de France after a positive doping test. Out disappeared Andrej Kashechkin, Matthias Kessler and Eddy Mazzoleni.

The following year did not Astana team run the race, despite the fact that they had Alberto Contador on the team.

Later still storming around the Kazakh great team, which has had both Contador and Lance Armstrong in the stables – in addition to reigning Tour champion Vincenzo Nibali.

Last year, five Astana riders caught doping . And although three of them came from Recruit crew reacted UCI arrange a hearing last fall.

First came news that Astana would retain his license. But now writes thus L’Equipe the opposite: The fresh developments are the result of an investigation under the auspices of the Lausanne-based agency ISSUL.

What concrete evidence UCI now sitting on, is currently highly uncertain.

It is speculated that it has come new revelations around Astana in a recent Italian doping investigation, called the Padua case.

Italian newspapers wrote recently that the lifetime banned doping doctor Michele Ferrari was observed and depicted on laghotellet Astana during a training camp. Both Ferrari and Astana refused for this.

VG also showed Vincenzo Nibali Asked if he had ever met Ferrari during the Tour de France last summer. Tour winner refused then for this.

VG has reason to believe that Italian police found the names of several Astana riders in a phone book when they raided the apartment of Ferraris son, Stefano, in Monaco a few years ago. This skjeddde before Nibali signed for the team.

If the license Tribunal in UCI actually revoke Astana license, is likely to appeal to sports arbitration court (CAS). That means all bask marks a complete chaos and months of legal tug of war.

Missed against Team Katusha

A few years ago tried to throw UCI Team Katusha, made Alexander Kristoff now bikes for, out of the sport, after several positive doping cases.

Team Katusha won however forward with the appeal its CAS. UCI is hardly interested in a similar, deer, litigation. Therefore speculation now about UCI can sit on material with violent explosive force in the case against Astana.

PS Tour de France starts in the Dutch city of Utrecht July 4.

Mats Zuccarello Aasen fortsetter å levere målpoeng da Rangers kom tilbake mot Arizona Coyotes.

NEW YORK RANGERS – ARIZONA COYOTES 4-3:
