Just signature missing before Northug and Skiforbundet agree – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): As Dagbladet wrote on the weekend, the Norwegian Ski team around Petter Northug practically agreed on the framework for the agreement that will make Petter able to go both World and Ski Championships in Falun this winter.

As reigning world champion in the 15-kilometer Northug has one free place in winter Falun World Cup, but the place had lapsed if not Petter had agreed with the Federation for a national agreement with the union.

This weekend was the framework for Northug Agreement also approved by NSF Board.

– NSF Board had submitted a sketch to an agreement and it has NSF Board consented to, say ship resident Erik Røste Dagbladet.

Constructive dialogue

new NSF Board decision making it is now only up to Peter and those with him to decide whether to go or World langløp the upcoming World Cup season. All formal approvals have now been taken from the FIS side, although there is still a couple of minor points to be agreed.

– I detect the signals Ski Federation provides via Dagbladet before the weekend, and can confirm that the dialogue has been constructive so far. Beyond that, I have no comment, said Northug manager Are Sørum Langås.

After that Dagbladet understand Northug has been granted the right to sell Northug products at their main sponsor Coop all season, but the advertising remains. Which points they still do not agree on the other hand, none of the parties say.

– No, it is wrong to go into that, says the federation’s general secretary, Stein Opsal.

– What have you given Northug in negotiations that you will now agree?

– We do not feel we’ve been in a negotiation , we have been in a discussion. We have had to clarify what laws and regulations allow, for within it has a certain autonomy and flexibility. So we have adapted it to Peter. We feel well both parties that we are pretty close to a solution, so within a few days we should be the goal.

– A relief

deadline Ski Federation has set to sign agreement on November 1. Earlier Team Northug requested a clarification to possibly have enough time to post about training to be able to go long runs, if international duty in World Cup and World Championships would not be appropriate.

When the parties reach an agreement, a month before the deadline, it is a relief for the sporty instrument around Northug.

– Yes, it is. Should this now go in order will be the one less thing to have around, said Northug trainer, Stig Rune Kveen, Dagbladet.

As early Thursday of next week will Northug appear in court in Trondheim to get the confession his sentence in drunk driving case from May 4th. That, and the action brought by the former management of New Highs, also hangs over Team Northug day. To clarify what Northug will compete in is thus a welcome news for Kveen and Northug.

– That said, we have not used the one calorie on this either, other than that we hoped it would work out. The work we have done for the past five months we had done anyway, says Kveen.
