Scholes about van Gaal: – Would not played on his team – Dagbladet.no

The former Manchester United warrior Paul Scholes says in an interview on the BBC that he would not thrived particularly well with playing the current United team under Louis van Gaal.

Wednesday broke Manchester United out for Middlesbrough in the Carling Cup after penalties at Old Trafford.

Scholes praises United’s defensive qualities and believes the piece being tackled brilliantly, but lamented his team’s style of play.

– It lacks creativity and risk, said Scholes who played 718 matches for the club in the United heyday.

– It’s been a team you do not want to play against because they are so tightly organized. It looks like he (van Gaal) do not want players who clinker in duels to regain the ball and it surely no team I’d enjoyed playing on, said Scholes.

United is fourth in the Premier League just two points behind City, but United have scored just 15 goals this season and not scored the last two games.

There are at least of the four best teams. Captain Wayne Rooney has scored just nine league games tomål on. He strikes also in the penalty shootout against Middlesbrough on Wednesday.

Van Gaal has admitted that his team’s lack målteft is a problem.

Scholes defends however his former teammate and say that all tips would have struggled to score goals on van Gaal layer.
