Hockey Blog before kick-off: Storhamar poor in Get-league
– We are playing with a completely different glow in the Champions Hockey League. We have won the last five games and is among the 16 best teams in Europe, outside of Russia (not included in the CHL). It is a feat, if you ask me, says Pål Johnsen (39) to VG.
Storhamar legend, nicknamed Magic, retired after last season. Now he Aleksander Smirnovs assistant coach.
– All is good, all is ‘on’. But I’ll highlight some, it must be Hesbråten, Skadsdammen and Rønnild in the 3rd row. They have been good both in the Get-league and the Champions Hockey League, says Johnsen.

– It is very fun. It is a lifetime experience to travel around Europe and playing hockey. But I did not think we’d go as far as this. I must admit, says Alexander Reichenberg, who came to Storhamar from Mjøs-rival Lillehammer front this season.

In the middle period glued Red Bull Salzburg itself unsettling firmly around Oskar Östlund in Storhamars goal. An equalizing hung one in the air.
Nothing lashing

On the whole there was little to indicate that Aleksander Smirnovs ‘huddled’ team unit would unravel. It was Salzburg too weak as a team, as opposed to Hamar’s hockey heroes – whose style and game plan obviously fits well in the Champions Hockey League.
But Brian Fahey equalized to make it 1-1 just over five minutes into the 3rd period . A neat backhand past Östlund.

But the battle was really lost, for Salzburg.
Turku next
Home Team Jacob Berglund and Alexander Reichenberg, with several, could not afford to make a cuddle and demonstration.
Salzburg players became even more acidic. 11 minutes before the end, three minutes after the levy, did Berglund 2-1 in hideout games. Salzburg picked out the keeper to play with an extra field player, and two (six to four) when Erik de la Rose was expelled four minutes before the end.
Salzburg equalized again, 2-2 by Brett Sterling. 70 seconds before the final was Jimmy Andersson tomålsscorer when he entered 3-2 plot the Salzburg goal.
