Silver-Stina is the new Swedish skidronning – now threatens she Kallas status – Aftenposten

Stina Nilsson (21) is searing after two World Cup silver.

FALUN: Still Charlotte Kalla the big hero in Swedish lady cross country and one of Sweden’s biggest sports stars. But now this can be threatened.

After silver at both the individual sprint and sprint relay is 21 years old Stina Nilsson in becoming whole new Swedish favorite.



Anchor leg of the relay

She has not made a new plan to take in the lead as many of the Norwegian skiers seem to have.

Drama on Lugnet

Her relay silver along with Ida Ingemarsdotter Sunday afternoon was doubly dramatic. After the two had celebrated the silver as major sporting heroes, it became clear that the jury had seen anything irregular. She could be disqualified. Weeping, she was taken to the jury room for “questioning”.

– It was heavy. I thought for a while that they should take from us the silver, and I was naturally very pleased when modest came, she says.

Stina Nilsson does not Tuesday’s 10 km. But she is mentioned highly relevant for the Swedish relay team.

– The outlet is fortunately not I who do.

PS Charlotte Kalla has taken a medal so far in the World Cup, a bronze at 15 km.
