Skip bosses about gold: – Hard to put into words – NRK

Norway had a clear lead throughout the second half. Finally it should all be settled with Rune Velta on top.

Norway’s new jump king made no mistake and delivered a jump more than good enough to bring home the gold.

The Norwegian boys ran cheering out on the plain to receive Velta. The success of the World Cup in 1993 is repeated. The stands were left standing audience and sing “Levva livet” and “Victory is our” long after the race was over.

– It is hard to put into words. It is hard to imagine that there could be anything bigger than this. It means a lot to Norwegian jumping sports, says jump Clas Brede Braathen.

Finally it boasts 19.4 points down to Austria that came in second place. Poland was number three.

– This is something we’ve dreamed about all summer. The fact that we finally now standing here, it’s amazing, says Rune Velta, who is now left with two gold, one silver and one bronze World Championships in Falun.



Higher and higher

Two bright jumps of Anders Fannemel and Rune Velta did that Norway had an excellent basis until the second half. Over 10 points behind after two groups were facing to 18.1 points ahead after all the jumpers had been off in the first half.

One by one they followed Norwegian jumpers up in the second half. First Anders Bardal which increased its lead further to Austria with a jump of 125.5 meters.

– This here is huge. This has been the dream, and we can do it. There are absolutely massive. It was a great competition, said Bardal.

– You seem touched?

– I’m just really proud and happy. This has been the goal for very long.

Fannemel followed

Anders Jacobsen was put out of the team for large hill competition. He was disappointed and upset, but pulled himself together and impressed in training, he came into the team for the team competition and delivered in both halves.

– This was my biggest goal when I came here. To be allowed to participate and perform yourself, it is fantastic, says Anders Jacobsen.

We love each other, so when we succeed together becomes an even greater pleasure.

Also Anders Fannemel delivered two good jumps. He responded in the second half when Manuel Poppinger sent a warning shot with a jump of 129 meters.

– I slept badly last night. I’ve never been so nervous before a ski jumping. It is so delicious, says Fannemel.

– All the hard work we have put down in recent years is worth it. It was hard to stand in the Olympics and see that the other dominate us, but today it was our turn.

He thinks that Norway was sixth in team competition in Sochi for one year page.

– It does not smell other than gold, said NRK hop expert Johan Remen Evensen after the first half, just as he also predicted before the race.
