(Dagbladet): You may have felt that the ski season has been over for a while, but Petter Northug, Therese Johaug and the rest of the cross country elite have not stopped competing although World Cup season ended over a month ago.

For many it Skarverennet marking the end of the ski season. The 38 km long course runs along Hallingskarvet from Finse to Ustaoset and was held for the first time in 1974.

Today 12,200 runners at the starting line, including profiles Therese Johaug, ingvild flugstad østberg and Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen in the women’s category, while including Petter Northug, defending champion Toni Livers, Sjur Rothe, Niklas Dyrhaug and Finn Haagen Krogh stood on the starting line in the men.

as expected – and as usual – was Johaug in a class of its own in the women’s class. At gentlemen were cross Livers best again.

Voltage torque

Cross Country girls started fifteen minutes before the gentlemen in the 38 km freestyle race, and ahead there was a certain tension in who would be first to the finish: the best girl or the best boy?

Swiss Livers showed up as the strongest in the men’s class this year, but to catch the Quarter Johaug started in front, was too tough even for him. It was not master winner near.

Johaug went into the clear victory and won with the time 1.34.41. FLUGSTAD Ostberg took a gradually accustom 2nd place, just over a minute behind teammate. Seraina Boner was no. 3, over five minutes behind Johaug while Uhrenholdt Jacobsen in 4th place was also beaten by seven minutes.

Johaug beat Northug

Livers went, just like last year, to victory in the men’s class and won with the time 1.26.47, ie eight minutes better than Johaug. Emil Iversen hijacked 2. Square, 1:12 behind the Swiss, while Simen Hegstad Krüger became no. 3 after losing sprint to cross-comet.

Petter Northug took it eventually calm and ended 36th in the men’s class with time 1.36.16. Thus he was actually beaten with a half minute of Johaug.

So did brother Even Northug and Sjur Rothe, who also took the relatively quiet and crossed the finish line together with cross country stjerna.

Rothe won also the first asked the price and was long well with, while Northug dropped tetgruppa relatively early and walked controlled to the finish.

Combined profile Magnus Moan became no. 27 and beat Johaug barely – with a half minutes.
