Gomis lowered United – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet :) Guests from Manchester opened the game best and controlled most of the action early. Despite this it was Swansea who played their way to the biggest chances.



United with most ball, Swansea with chances

Jonjo Shelvey low dialed free kick after 25 minutes ended up with Gylfi Sigurdsson inside the box. Icelander got fired, but the shot sailed past Sergio Romero’s far post.

It would not take long before Swansea were again on the move when Shelvey only minutes after got strung through Bafetimbi Gomis. The Frenchman got ripped by a player on the way through the box, but his shot bounced back post headed over dødlinja.



Mata-goals

United were good in the upbuilding game and could play into more chances, but with Wayne Rooney who is still struggling to find form in the Premier League as they had nobody to convert chances in the first place.

Second Half started again well positive for United and the 48.minutt charged Luke Shaw down the left side of United. His posts passed Rooney inside the box but Juan Mata wide as the visitors in the lead.



Ayew and Gomis takes over

From would very much be about homemade who worked his way back into the game. When the class was playing got the nod for his efforts when Gylfi Sigurdsson turned into a ball that hit Ayew perfect. Ghanserens header had enough power in it to beat Sergio Romero in United cage, who conceded their first Premier League goals in his career.

More problems should it become too Romero just a few minutes. Ayew played a lovely utsidepasning to Gomis who again found room among United’s defenders. The ending was not of the highest caliber, but sneaked past a knocked Romero in United cage. Swansea had turned it on Liberty Stadium.

United thrown catching up Marouane Fellaini in a desperately hoping to catch something, but the huge Belgian could not affect the result. Wayne Rooney had the opportunity to correct the impression toward the end of the game, but his shot was cleared away by Swansea captain Ashley Williams. Rooney himself thought he should have had a penalty, but replays showed that it had been in the strictest made.

The loss is United’s first this season and means the Red Devils take the national team break in fifth place in the Premier League. Swansea on his side have yet to lose in the league this year and is in fourth place.



Hang not

– The opponent changed formation after 1-0 and we could not hang out with. That’s not good, told United’s manager Louis van Gaal after the game.

– We lost the game in the five minutes and it’s a pity because we controlled. We must be compact, but we were probably too dominant to do so, said van Gaal after the match that also told British press that the current loss does not change his view on buying or selling the last few days of the transfer window.



Brave and klinske

– We enjoyed this. The first 20 minutes started United very well, but in the second half as we were amazing, said Swansea manager Garry Monk after the game.

– The players were brave and we were clinical when we needed. We changed to a diamond formation in the second half and that helped us, told Monk after the game.
