How played Rosenborg matches in Europa League – Sunnmørsposten

A touch of disappointment hung in the air at the barracks when hope audiences kind Dortmund, Liverpool and Tottenham went flute. Instead ended Rosenborg in group of Ukrainian Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Italian Lazio and French St. Etienne.

While Molde ended with audience friendly Ajax, Celtic and Fenerbahce, meetings Rosenborg quality stroke without the best condition in Norway.

How played Rosenborg matches in this year’s Europa League:

  • Thursday September 17: St. Etienne – Rosenborg
  • Thursday 1 October: Rosenborg – Dnipro
  • Thursday 22 October: Lazio – Rosenborg
  • Thursday November 5th: Rosenborg – Lazio
  • Thursday 26 November: Rosenborg – St. Etienne
  • Thursday 10 December: Dnipro – Rosenborg

Helland: – I do not think Norwegians know how good Dnipro are

finalists last year

Although Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in According ranking points were the underdog from the top level, facing Rosenborg a team that most trøndere may not have bearing on the level of.

Ukrainians, who finished third behind big teams Dynamo Kyiv and FC Shakhtar Donetsk in homely series, got to the final of the Europa League last year. On the way there they beat out Olympiakos, Ajax, Club Brugge and Naples in the playoffs – having partly knocked out St. Etienne in the group stage.

In the final in Warsaw took Dnipro lead by star striker Nikola Kalinic, but lost eventually 2-3 against Sevilla. Kalinic is one of two star players who left the club in the summer, the other is the greatest: Yevhen Konoplyanka, who went to just Sevilla.

But the rest of the stem is retained in coach Myron Markevytsj ‘teams, it includes several exciting Brazilians.

Old greatness on the rise

Brazilian is also the biggest star to Lazio. He goes by the name Felipe Anderson. Several major European clubs to have been long flat after the wing in the summer, but he does not yet appear to be in the Italian capital.

The club had its heyday in the late 90s, when Sven-Goran Eriksson headed team to the league title and the Cup Winners’ Cup – one of the predecessors of today’s Europe League. Since then the club has been chopped behind the very best in Italy, but has intensified in recent years. Last year ended Lazio on 3rd place after a gunpowder strong and decisive victory against Napoli last matchday.

So they went to the champion league play-off. There was Bayer Leverkusen for strong, despite Italian victory in the first match.

Klose keep moving

Team’s profiles is the Italian national team player Antonio Candreva, current captain Lucas Biglia (played World Cup final for Argentina last year) and Germany’s old World Cup top scorer Miroslav Klose. He is hardly as sharp as in the glory days, but 37-year-old keeps still going strong.

Thus, it can be a tough encounter with the Italians, even Rosenborg escape a bit of public pressure away from home. Lazio rarely manages to fill more than half the Olympic Stadium, and Romans goes hardly flocked to see RBK.

big brother to superstar

While the atmosphere in Rome can be rather lackluster, St . Etienne known for amazing feel on his pressure cooker a home. The club had its heyday in the 70s, but since then there have been very lean with great feats.

Ingebrigtsen: – It’s a tough group, but opponents we can beat

Off-known players who have shouldered the green jersey, is Michel Platini and Laurent Blanc household names – in addition to the current Swansea player Bafétimbi Gomis and Dortmund player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Today called the most famous players Benoît Assou-Ekotto (known to be completely uninterested in football, despite useable career at Tottenham), Stephane Ruffier (reserve goalkeeper on the French national team) and Florentin Pogba (more famous for being the brother of super talent Paul Pogba than for its performance on the pitch).

Smashed RBK in 2008

St. Etienne hung long in the battle for Champions League place in France last year, but ended fifth in the league, à points with Marseille in fourth place and two points behind third placed Monaco – who had the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League.

In other words, a good French team – that RBK lost 0-3 to France in the Europa League in 2008 (when there were no double matches in the group stage).
