Martin Andresen with shock comeback in Sandefjord – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Martin Andresen (38) making a comeback as a player – in Sandefjord. It confirms Sandefjord-coach Lars Bohinen to Dagbladet.

– Through a mutual friend got wind of that he was in good shape. We had him in training a few weeks ago. Then he was one of the best. We agreed to see time Depends. Now he is geared up to train with us, so we’ll see how it carries, says Bohinen.

– Does he straight into the team?

– He comes on the training over the weekend. So he must adapt to training doses. We’ll see if he comes up to a level where he can start.



Vålerenga coach

Andresen was coach of Vålerenga from 2008 to 2012. Apart from a short trip to Stabæk 2013, there have been virtually silent around him on the football front.

Today he adm. dir. in Skeidar. But the desire to play football is obviously present. Bohinen says he looked at the training that the former England captain still has it in him.

– He has a sensible passing, and is adept at reading climate in the fighting, says Bohinen.

Sandefjord coach continues:

– I had not seen this coming. But we have had a good dialogue for several weeks. Both have been wanting to try. We know that he will be useful in everyday training. He manages to get in shape to play, it becomes a bonus.

Andresen must have impressed surroundings especially in squash. Bohinen points out that here are many of the same movements as in football, so that it is transferable.



Positive

– How has your wardrobe received news?

– Players got to know it today. We have not had training, but I will be surprised if the reception is anything but positive.

Andresen has contracted with Sandefjord out of season. The team is last in the Premier League, and fights to save space. The 38 year old has a past that player including Stabæk, Wimbledon, Fire and Vålerenga.
