Finally you get 16-year-old playing again.
NYDALEN (Aftenposten): – Martin is a young player, and he is talented. We will develop and improve him for the future. And he will play tomorrow. I do not know how much, but he will play, that’s for sure. I have great faith in him. We must be patient. We must know, he must know and you must understand it, said Benitez about Martin Ødegaard when he held a very brief press conference shortly after arriving in Norway.
This gives Ødegaard his first game for Real Madrid since he started against Roma on 18 July.
Real Madrid has not yet made a decision about 16-year-old’s future in the team – if there will be games with the B-team, Castilla, next year, or if he lent to another club for more first-team football.
– We must see what is best for him. Whether it is with Castilla or whether it is a loan, we must analyze carefully. We try to make him better every day, says Benítez who call Ødegaard for a “clever lad” who seems to cope with all the attention very well.
Ronaldo probably ready next week
Earlier Today it was confirmed that Real Madrid left Spain without some of the team’s biggest stars, Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo himself. Because of injuries they lose the battle against Valerenga, which is pre-season very last moment.
– Cristiano (Ronaldo, journ.’s Note.) Work with physio. Probably he will be ready next week.
Real Madrid opens La Liga away match against Sporting de Gijón on Sunday 23 August, and thus it seems that Ronaldo is on track in terms of variety of the game.
Boasts Vålerenga
With the plane to Oslo was anyway Gareth Bale, James Rodríguez, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco and of course our own Martin Ødegaard – as before departure gave thumbs up Real Madrid’s Twitter account. Also club president Florentino Pérez has traveled to Oslo to attend tomorrow’s game at Ullevaal.
Real Madrid earlier this season preparations met big teams like Bayern Munich, Roma, Manchester City and AC Milan. Tomorrow awaits little Vålerenga, but Benitez does not seem there is any problem and also do not think there will be any easy match at Ullevaal.
– Vålerenga has done very well in the league so far, and is a good team that is in good shape right now.
Real Madrid’s stars landed at Gardermoen kl. 18.30 and was then chased straight to the hotel in Nydalen, where coach Rafael Benitez held press conference.
Waited for the stars
The area surrounding the Radisson SAS Hotel in Nydalen was blocked off before Real Madrid’s stars arrived, but cousins Jonas Omland Aarvik (11) and Jostein Omland Leifsen (6) still hoped to get a glimpse at the stars.
– we’re hoping for an autograph and picture, says 11 year old Jonas Omand Aarvik.
The boys have come to Oslo from Evje, six mil north of Kristiansand, and together with Jostein Omland Leifsen parents they ended accidentally up staying at the hotel where the Real Madrid stars will spend the night in Oslo. They hope it can provide additional opportunities to get closer to the players.
Looking forward to seeing Ødegaard
Even though the boys are disappointed that Real Madrid’s biggest star, Ronaldo, not to Norway, they also have other favorites they look forward to seeing at Ullevaal tomorrow.
– The favorites are Ronaldo, Bale, James, says Jonas.
– And Marcelo. And Ødegaard, shoot Jostein into.
The two tipping Real Madrid wins 4-2 or 4-1 against Vålerenga.
