Mourinho with rare apology for judge criticism – Dagbladet.no

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho takes self-criticism for comments about refereeing after the 3-0 win over Watford in the FA Cup.

After the game Mourinho felt his side should have had a penalty in the construction of their second goal when Craig Cathcart apparently used hand to block a shot by Diego Costa.

Judge Kevin Friend will subsequently have explained Mourinho that he used advantage rule. It resulted in the Loïc Remy scored only shortly afterwards. The Portuguese manager acknowledges that criticism was wrong.

– I want to apologize for my earlier comments in some television interviews. What the judge did was a good performance. He saw that it was punishing, and he would give it, but then the ball was heading to Remy and waited a few seconds, said 51-year-old.

– He said to me that if Remy failed to handle the ball or lose it, he had given a penalty. I complained, but it was well judged by Kevin, chuckled.

To Score by Willian, Remy and Kurt Zouma ensured 3-0 victory to London-made and advancement in the FA Cup.
