Svindal: – No need to depreciate Cup – Aftenposten

Aksel Lund Svindal told about injury status before the World Cup.

Aksel Lund Svindal told Tuesday how rehabilitation goes in terms of VM starting in February.

– Things are going pretty well. That has not happened anything negative that makes it look worse than the last time I saw you. It has gone very well. I think I’m ready to go skiing in not too long, says Svindal.

Landslagets physiotherapist says that rehabilitation is on schedule.

– There is still a long way to reach World Cup, but there is no reason to dismiss it, saying Svindal.

Alpine Championships starting in Beaver Creek in Colorado February 3rd. Then the women run super G. The following day shall lords run the same discipline. Lord of the downhill run Saturday 7th February. In other words, Lund Svindal just a month on to become properly VM ready.

32-year-old is the sovereign VM king historically. It was he during the last World Cup in Schladming two years ago. He won a superior downhill gold, and he thus became the first male skier ever to have won gold in four World Championships in a row. There and then he was also the first since the 1930s which has won two downhill gold.

A total Nero skier five World Championship gold: Downhill 2007 (Are) and 2013 (Schladming), giant slalom in 2007 (Åre ) and super combination in 2009 (Val d’Isere) and 2011 (Garmisch-Partenkirchen).

At the hospital in Innsbruck, the Austrian city where Lund Svindal live, it was established that akillesen was broken. He has not skied since.

Instead, he bla. been on an extended trip to the United States and the Caribbean recently. Yet he made sure to keep exercising at the same.
