Biathlon taken for doping – VG

The International Biathlon Union has taken another biathlon doping.

Is also the B sample positive means that the IBU is suffered three doping cases in less than two months.

According to the international biathlon Union is found traces of an agent who came on WADA ban list by year end.

The athlete is suspended with immediate effect, but IBU reckon it not as a positive doping test before also B- sample is analyzed or the athlete may refrain from getting tested the second sample.

However, according to the Russian Biathlon Union is the Eduard Latypov who is doping taken. He is junior world champion on two occasions and stands with two wins in the IBU Cup on a total of 11 starts.

The Russian Biathlon Union says a press release that they are investigating the matter further and that they will come back with comments. It is not clear whether Latypov will require analysis of the B sample.

The test was done under IBU Cup in February. In this tournament they participate next best biathletes.

In January, the Ukrainian biathlete Olga Abramova doping taken after they found the illegal substance meldonium in a urine sample after a race in Ruhpolding.



Dropped B sample

This drug was forbidden to use from 1 January this year.

A month later another Ukraine field for the same asset. The 22-year-old biathlete Artem Tysjenko tested positive for meldonium in IBU Cup in Arber in Germany on 23 January. He refrained from getting B sample tested.
