U21: – Have buttoned onto their lead – NFF

Norway lost 0-1 against Spain in Murcia on Monday evening. Everton player Gerard Deulofeu scored the only goal when he knocked the ball into nettaket defender Sondre Rossbach after 17 minutes.

– When we met Spain a year ago we lost 0-2, but the loss could have been much bigger then. Today we gave them much better game and it shows that the boys have learned a lot since last time. We have a team that is composed of many different player types and we have many exciting players that constantly evolves, says national coach Leif Gunnar Smerud to fotball.no.

– Today we grew into the game after a little tortuous start. We must dare to be ourselves and play our game well against a good team like Spain. It got to periods today and I am very happy with.

Learned a lot

Norway makes up and delivered a good game against a strong Spanish team.

– There was an important difference between the teams today. Spain managed to control the ball in all situations, while we lost it a few times and got transitions against us, says Smerud.

– If we are to have a chance to send such a strong team like Spain, we must put the chances we get and be careful in everything we do. We need to have a day where all the players and we as a team are in top form. We were not quite there today, but it is natural at this time of year.

the trainer is sure that today’s game helps that Norway gets better.

– Spain is a very good football team. They are direct while they have a good reason games. They ran some transitions to us that is of very high class. We learned a lot from playing against them in the day and fights like this contribute to our further development.

– Both the Netherlands and today we have good answers on where we stand. There is still a click up to the top teams, but we buttons steadily into the gap and I think we will eventually count also in games against top nations.

– Good team

After gathering at La Manga awaits a private battle against Bulgaria in June before the European Championship qualifying resumes this fall.

– We have had very good yield of this collection. The fighting has been good and it has been working well both on the field and off the field. We have a team around the team that works very well and that paves the way for our continued ability to develop and approach the best.
