Comment: Sports Leaders dodges debate

– I will consider the extent to which the public has access opportunities today, so you have a real control on how the money is managed, says Conservative minister VG today.

Hofstad Helleland emphasizes that she is referring to the central link in the Norwegian Confederation of Sports. She does not intend to frame small sports clubs or volunteer as steaks waffles at their leisure, she said.

– Should people at the top in Norwegian sports disclose travel expenses to see how the rest of country how they spend money?

– most others who receive public funds to do it, and it is a practice we relate to. The management of the federation must give reasons why they think it is not right for them to do this, and then we take it from there. It is important to have a good dialogue.

– Largest popular movement

– What do you think about the statements that have come to now: that one did not want this for the sake of privacy?

– I’ve only read it through the media. Therefore, I want to be put down together, so I get to hear what they have to say.

The Minister of Culture is fundamental concerned with openness and initiative to tomorrow’s meeting is not a direct result of VG’s coverage of theme, she says.

Right-politician thinks it’s healthy that sport organizes itself. She stuck by the main principle.

– But this is our biggest folk movement, and it is based on volunteerism and community spirit. We must not get there that we experience too much distance between parents who use their spare time in the barracks with waffles and the central sports leaders who manages money bag, said Hofstad Helleland.

– She has asked insight into the matter, nothing more than that I do not know. I have thought that she would look into the transparency line we follow – and as we have already handed VG and all media in Norway.

– Culture Minister will hear about what kind of action you should take. Do you have any on the block?

– Every organization must develop. Whoever is fully developed, is just finished. But this discussion should I take with the Minister and not VG. I am glad this meeting, says Tvedt.
