The best Norwegian ski season – Adresseavisen

It is Norwegian Ski Association has created the outline, while sports historian Tom A. Schanke has gone into detail on the individual sports. NSF’s overview shows that 44 athletes from 38 clubs have been on the podium 261 times, including 93 times on top. The victories were distributed as follows: Nordic skiing 55 downhill 20 combined 9, jumping 7 and freestyle 2.

So this is skiing which comes under the Norwegian Ski Association. The biathletes have their own union, and also they have had a strong season.

– It’s not the best season for all branches, but it is the best season total. Alpine skiing is, however, by far the best season ever. Earlier, ten wins in one season the best, this year we have 20. It’s phenomenal, says Schanke.

A mid-season

– Personally, I think the project more that we almost made a clean sweep in the World Championship in Falun last year but never has anyone won so much as Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Therese Johaug made this winter, says sports historian who notes that Norway has had better individual results in jumps, but never the same team effort.

We are a nation of skiers

Also ships resident Erik Røste points out that it is a mid season, and when there are several World Cup or otherwise. Yet he is thrilled.

– We have performed in all six branches located under the ski federation, and I have not experienced before. This is a result of a job that is done by very many. It starts in the clubs, where many stands, says Røste, who thinks he saw some of the basis for success when he was on the junior national cross-country for 17 to 20 years at Vang.

– It was over a thousand participants! We are a nation of skiers. No others are nearby. And it is with this foundation we can state that we are going to be great in the future.

Good team spirit

In addition to the good selection of runners and many enthusiasts who are standing think Røste that the Norwegian team spirit contributes to the good results.

– it was amazing to see how Kjetil Jansrud cheered when he saw the green time (management) to Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. They welcome the success. It shows team spirit and how practitioners work together. The benefit of such good partners. And then we have cooperation across grenere. There is something of the success of Norway. And then we have Olympiatoppen that gathers expertise, says Røste, who do not dare to predict anything about success in all VMs next winter.

– We know that some are good at pointy shape of the championship. I can say that we are going to hold our own good, but do not dare to love x number of gold medals, says Erik Røste, who are busy managing the cultural heritage so many Norwegians are concerned.
