Jansrud scoops over six million cheers season – Aftenposten

– Horrible delicious to see that he gets out his potential, said a jubilant dad January Jansrud.

Vinstra- man has completed soon what is career obvious best season, and today was the coveted overall victory in the downhill cup secured in France.

The wonderful season has given Jansrud honor, honor and massive respect, but also a substantial sum money.

After Wednesday’s downhill event in Meribel shows FIS overview of prize money that 29-year-old has won 371,507 Swiss, which by today is just over three million.

In addition Jansrud personal sponsors who are largely performance based. That means that 29-year-old probably has had an income of well over double the prize money – ie over six million.

Dad January Jansrud set really meet, but when his son drove down trail route in Meribel and won Downhill Cup took the break and then race on a laptop.

– Yes, when we had to pause and set up sound on the PC, says Jan Jansrud Aftenposten and laughs.

With three races left (super-G, giant slalom and slalom in Meribel) stands Kjetil Jansrud with seven World Cup victories this season. Dad Jan are incredibly impressed with the son has got this season.

Dad Jansrud: – Horrible delicious

– He got out the potential that we have seen all the time, and it is terribly nice to see that he gets it. I have been one of the coaches his when he was younger, and it gives an incredible sense of satisfaction. And of course it is always fun to see their children succeed, says Jansrud.

In an interview with Aftenposten earlier in December said Kjetil Jansrud that money is no motivation for him. But Dad January says it’s important nonetheless.

– He lives the of this. So it is clear it has something to say, but this is one year and so have been many, many years where it has not gone as well. So I think you have to see this in a longer perspective, says Jansrud.

And he’s right – the previous years have not been near as lucrative 29-year-old from Vinstra. This season Jansrud served over 700,000 pounds more than he did during 2012-, 2013- and 2014-season together – just in pure premiums money.

Aamodt: – Can hold on for another decade

Former skier Kjetil André Aamodt is very impressed with the Jansrud delivered.

– It’s insane what he have done for years, I think. He shows what formidable skier he is. He has won seven well World Cup this season, and it’s not easy. That he has been a constant winner, is perhaps the most important. Downhill Cup is the Alpine skiing formula 1, and the grandest ball off overall victory, says Kjetil André Aamodt Aftenposten.

– Why has it loosened so much for him first this season?

– It takes time to become good at speed disciplines. Didier Defago (which was number two in today’s downhill event, journ.anm) is the 38 years and will add up. So Jansrud have ten years left in top if he wants and have the motivation to do so. Man running many of the same trails every year, so the more years on the butt you, the better you become, Aamodt says and continues:

– While he has struggled with injuries much earlier, and he has not had now. He has also been more focus on the super-G and downhill, and he has clearly found a winning formula, says Aamodt.

Aamodt: Knee injury may have made him better

In February ten years ago fell Jansrud ugly Schladming World Cup. Ligament knee snapped, and the Olympics the following year looked to be in danger. But skier struck violently back and won both gold (super-G) and downhill (bronze).

Aamodt does not exclude that the damage overall has done Jansrud better.

– The is possible that the damage in total have helped him, but I also think he has taken step by step all the way. My impression is that Kjetil is becoming a more and more serious athlete. He was talented and trained a lot, but I think he has become more conscious, systematic and grueling in priorities when it comes to exercise, says Aamodt.

Dad January agrees.

– It may almost seem as if the injury did him well. It gave him an opportunity to train very much physically. He was very clear that he would turn back, but just why he has turned out in full bloom, is hard to say. Watching the trends before the injury came, but he has become much more motivated and serious in recent years, says Jansrud.

– How long do you think he is doing?

– He is so fond of this sport that he is going to run as long as the body holds. It seems that one is better motivated when battling in the top and performing all the time, says his father.
