Player and club should be agreed personal terms, which means that Brown arrives at Oslo in a short time.
Vålerenga have hunted for a new striker after Icelandic Vidar Örn Kjartansson left the club in favor for Chinese Jiangsu.
– We have surveyed around 20-25 alternative strikers. We have spent good time in this work, nearly two months. Finally we landed on Deshorn Brown of Colorado Rapids, said Vålerenga coach Kjetil Rekdal told the club website.
He has only words of praise to say about the club last reinforcement.
– He is extremely quick, physically strong and good head. He is good to go in the back and has great ending frequency. He has little to go on as goalscorer, where we will develop him. Had he been fully developed in the area, we had not been near to fetch him here. He will take Tippeligaen by storm, says Rekdal.
VIF also confirms that the acquisition would not impossible to implement without external funding. That means that in plain investor Tor Olav Trøim reinvests the money he got for Kjartansson transition.
