Aksel Lund Svindal snogging with victory in the World Cup comeback – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Norway’s two downhill kings, Aksel Lund Svindal and Kjetil Jansrud, were big favorites ahead of today’s season opener in Canadian Lake Louise. Not only because they are the two merriterte skiers they are, but in training ahead of the weekend, the two outright devastated. Kjetil Jansrud failed, but Aksel Lund Svindal drove recipe statistics and won – one hundredth (! ) ahead of Italian Peter Fill – in his comeback in the World Cup. – It is amazing the shaft, confirmed NRK commentator Andreas Toft.

– For a man, for an athlete , for an alpinist, voted expert Marius Arnesesen in.

– Great athlete

It shows that Aksel Lund Svindal earnest will to be reckoned with in comeback season after achilles injury which kept him out all of last year – with the exception of the World Championships.

– Shaft made some big comeback before. But this shows how great athlete he is, says sports director Claus Ryste Dagbladet.

He continues:

– He has prepared well and had a good training season, but not to compete in one year creates question marks for both him and us. So he makes the others to shame on the first channel. One hundredth enough, there. It was stunningly good.

Jansrud disappointed

But Kjetil Jansrud filled his shoes, and then some, in last season. He was also the first downhill in Lake Louise.

Jansrud gave much from the start, which cost him a few niggles in the upper portion. The hundred pieces he gave up then, he never run into. At the finish he was 76 hundredths behind leader Peter Fill, and ended in ninth place.

Something disappointing the man who last year won both challenges and super G-Cup.

But Shaker laws that guys are going to continue to deliver.

– They have shown now that they are very strong. Kjetil hit not quite today, but I think he knows that he has it. The guys are good at putting it in perspective.

In the morning awaits super G in Lake Louise. Where also the Norwegian guys great chances to assert themselves in the top.
